It was August 8th, 1986 when the film was released theatrically (in the United States). How old were you when you saw it then, for those who did? How did you feel about the movie at that time you saw it?

I was 6 years old at the time and Transformers were my favorite thing in the entire world. I remember asking my dad what would be so special about a movie vs the cartoon I was watching and he told me that it would be bigger and more exciting. For some reason, I translated that as a big scene featuring ALL the minibots...

We had to go a couple of towns over to see it. Not sure if that was because our local theater didn't have it or if it was some other reason.

I thought at the time, and still do, that the movie is awesome.

I remember thinking it was weird that the theme song being sung differently was a little weird.

I remember really enjoying the beginning with all the characters I knew, especially seeing Shockwave with the Decepticons on Cybertron.

I remember thinking that Prowl was doing some special power when his face changed after getting shot by Scavenger, then realizing that he was dying.

I really liked Hot Rod and Kup.

I'm not sure if I noticed Snarl not being there first time in theater but I definitely noticed it on VHS.

I think I remember thinking the Dinobots and Devestator would have a big fight and was disappointed it didn't last longer.

I remember being sad but not devastated about Prime dying, I was actually much more upset after Dark Awakening.

I don't remember Spike cursing.

I loved the Dinobots in the movie. Especially Slag's, "excuse me" and Grimlock's, "me Grimlock kick butt".

I didn't hate Wheelie. I sometimes wonder if most kids didn't hate Wheelie until it was the "cool thing to do" on ATT.

I remember not knowing what would happen next. I half expected no change to the cartoon and being really excited when FFoD was a continuation of the movie.

He did appear at Autobot City with Magnus and the others after getting the message from Bumblebee and Spike on Moonbase-2, a little before and when Galvatron and co. returned and attacked. I think Snarl was also shown inside the Quintesson ship when it landed on Junkion.

Me too.

I think I was in tears when he died in the film.

I do. Wasn't expecting that.

I really liked those too.
