That was a terrible version of Armada Megatron, so that was part of it. It got nothing right about the character.
I'm not sure a lot of people are clamoring for an Armada Megatron homage, but any that were got disappointed.

I don't understand the point of the base modes more often than not.
I like Perceptor's weird tank mode, and think of it as a tiny, mobile observatory thing for Convex. Autobots having little research stations makes sense.
I could see Soundwave or Blaster transforming into a communications center, to coordinate other robots in battle. But they clearly transform into discoteques. And I don't understand their alt-modes at all.
But why does Black Shadow have a base mode? What does he do that merits staying in one place like that?
