I was just wondering who Detroit would offer for Grant's
services. What does Buffalo need the most?
What is the status of young goaltenders in the Sabres' farm
system? Do they need one of Detroit's back-ups?
Option 1: Paul Coffey. Probably has 2-3 mediocre to good
seasons left. Would mean that Buffalo is trying to make a
move now instead of the future.
Option 2: Ray Sheppard. A good goal scorer that could
replace what Buffalo lost in Dave Andreychuk, but I don't
think that Detroit would give him up.
What about Primeau and some draft picks?
What do the other sabres fans out there think?
All I can say, when LaFontaine and Simpson get healthy Buffalo
is going to have a contender. BTW, when will LaFontaine get
back? Maybe for the playoffs? oh, please!

So how many remember that Ray Sheppard actually used to be a Sabre? I
believe he was waived and picked up for the $1 transaction fee by Detriot....
Another great move by the Sabre's office. Granted, this happened a
while ago, but stil... (does anyone remember exactly when or the
exact details?)

Highly unlikely: Coffey is a key element in the Wing's quest for the
cup this year. Ditto for Shepherd. Possible trade bait
includes Primeau, Dallas Drake, and even Stevie Y.

Sorry to break the news, but Lafontaine's return for this year's playoffs is
highly unlikely.
