Michigan / Ohio State game canceled this year.

Ann Arbor, MI (AP) Athletic Director William "Ed" Martin announced today
that the legendary rivalry game between Michigan and Ohio State would be
canceled this year. This year's game has been canceled due to the inability
of Michigan to get by Toledo.
Michigan had hoped to reschedule the game but given the geographical
location of Toledo, they could not foresee any way to get past Toledo.
Michigan's coach Dick Rodriguez was hoping to travel in multiple vehicles
rather than a team bus, giving Michigan the option to spread out through
Toledo, but they found that this approach was futile, and Michigan was still
unable to get past Toledo.
When asked why the game had been canceled rather than postponed, Michigan
President Mary Sue Lynn Anne Coleman responded that Big Ten Fuhrer Jim
Delaney said it was forbidden to hold games past Thanksgiving, because
"[T]hat's not how things are done in the Big Ten. We are successful in big
bowl games because of our commitment to a long break between the end of the
season and bowl games," pointing to Ohio State as an example.
Michigan will finish the season at a putrid 3-8, which is embaressing to
Michigan fans everywhere.
Ohio State will finish the season at 10-1, with a chance at a Big Ten
Championship if Michigan State defeats Penn State.
