That foul ball off the bridge of Flores's nose was just to painful to
even watch and it reminds me why I could never do surgery. That has to
be very serious and could have been lethal. Just so frustrating...

The Mets announced on Thursday that infielder Wilmer Flores’ season is
over due to a broken nose that he sustained this past weekend. As
MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo tweets, the team had hoped that Flores would be
able to return at some point this week, but today’s reexamination of the
injury apparently altered that trajectory.

The way this year has gone, it would have been surprising if this *didn't* end Wilmer's season. It was the right decision though - there's no point risking his future in order to win 68 games instead of 67 or whatever.

I was kind of looking forward to seeing him reach 20 HR though, before this happened. It would of been at least one bright spot...

100% but I think this indicates that he is more seriously injured than
we originally believed The skullcase must have been fractured and he is
frankly lucky to be alive.

and he would if he in any reasonable way could. he loves to play
