Tested is a relative term. Janov's work was highly documented in
the 5 or 6 books he wrote on the matter of 'clearing' the child of his
childhood amongst zombies.
It was mostly a cathartic approach, uncover the suppressed anger
and murderous rage, find a proper outlet to blow off the volcanic steam,
and the person's body became as if the trauma had never happened.
Afterwards,
Some took of being vegan.
Some took up being het.
The assertions as to WHY the change were made by the clients
themselves who made the change.
Janov observed the incident that resolved the homo situation, if it
resolved at all, and inevitably it was a male child who hated his mother
so much he couldn't stand to be near women, so he took up relations with
men as safe terminals. Or a male child that loved his mother but had a
father who was so distant the child couldn't stand it, and so the child
also takes up powerful male relationships including sex.
Generally the first kind who hated women became mono homo, while
the second kind took up bi sexuality.
Not every gay person was resolved by an incident, but no hets
became gay after clearing.
If you get a collection of his books, there are about 5 of them,
read them in time order, they mostly consist of case histories which are
powerful testemonies to what happened in session, as many of the
chapters are written by the person undergoing therapy.
The primal scream was the end phenomenon of the therapy and after
that people were emotional clears again.
The books have lots of documentation, a lot having to do with
memory working before the myelin sheaths were formed, namely prenatal
and very early baby hood.
But I doubt anyone else tested the theories because most people
haven't a clue how to conduct primal therapy in the first place, and it
would be God awful politically incorrect to set out to prove nature or
nurture or both on the subject of homo sexuality. Probably its both.
Homosexuals have elected themselves a protected species, so
scientifically studying WHY they are gay is strictly forbidden.
