French police are continuing to investigate the death of actress Lucy
Gordon, even as foul play has been ruled out.
Gordon was found Wednesday by an unidentified male friend after apparently
committing suicide, People magazine reports.
An up-and-coming actress, Gordon is probably best known to genre fans as
Jennifer Dugan in "Spider-Man 3." However, she has appeared in a number of
other films including "Perfume" in 2001, and "The Four Feathers" with the
late Heath Ledger. She also is starring in the upcoming film "Serge
Gainsbourg."
Friday would've been her 29th birthday.
"She was a sparking, warm-hearted, touching and generous, and we will miss
her sorely," said Elizabeth Simpson, Gordon's French agent.
"We have always been immensely proud of her and her achievements," her
father Richard Gordon told the British Press Association. "We love her so
much. She was called Lucy and she has lived up to that. She has been the
light of our lives, me and my wife Sue, and daughter Katie."
While it's not clear why Gordon would take her own life, suicides and
suicide attempts are not uncommon in Hollywood through the stress of fame
and always trying to be on top. It's been six years since actor Jonathan
Brandis, who starred in "SeaQuest DSV" took his life. Richard Farnsworth,
another actor genre fans may recognize as the sheriff in the Stephen King
film "Misery," shot himself in 2000 after being diagnosed (and reportedly
severely suffering from) terminal bone cancer.
Of course, suicide is nothing more than a permanent solution to a temporary
problem, and there are people to help. If you or someone you know is having
suicidal thoughts, please don't hesitate to contact the Suicide Hotlines.

I vehemently disagree with the writer's remark in the last paragraph. He
mentioned actor Richard Farnsworth as a suicide victim who, upon learning he
had terminal bone cancer, shot himself in the head.
How is "terminal cancer" a "temporary problem"?
Goddamn dunce.

She doesn't look too happy in this photograph, so perhaps there's more
to this story than meets the eye ~!

Some guy she had a really big crush on, rejected her advances or
said something mean to her ~ that's one possible scenario .
There has to be a very good reason if you're gonna hang yourself,
for FRICK's sake.
Overdosing on sleeping tablets or some other substance that puts
you under first before dying is probably a cleaner option, but if she
hangs herself that means some form of attention is sought or she
wanted to be noticed.
No woman likes to be rejected.

"Hell hath no fury like that wally."
Don't be stupid. Hell cant be too bad a place if all that happens is
some wailing mouthy fat bitch is moaning all night.
That's putting the silly expression you use into it's worst possible
scenario.
Looking at the average American woman....your Country must be a
duplicate of Hell.
Werewolfy
I'd rather think we aren't a facsimile, but the original Hell itself. Souls
are dumped here and go onto bedevil each other and weaker nations, chew up
the natural envirvonment, and then dream about taking our demonic doings to
other planets some day.
