Then create an amendment to the constitution that limits the Federal
Government from taxing or Spending more than 18% of the GDP.

"Before privatization the city had allowed the water system to
deteriorate to near collapse, was being fined by the EPA for violating
clean water standards, and had nearly 50% more employees working in
the water department than needed. The water department said it needed
to double water rates to solve these problems. Privatization saved the
city roughly $10 million per year, brought the system into compliance
with EPA standards, and raised rates only 10 percent to accomplish
it."

and you may as well get your spot saved in the soup line. because the
blowout of the economy will be a sonic boom, heard round the world.
as we have seen through out modern history, that austerity has never
worked, any where, any time. it turned a recession, into the great
depression.
after the first cut by the idiot, he will find out that he cannot
meet his goals, because austerity promotes contraction, not expansion,
and the idiot will find himself facing vastly reduced tax receipts.
so the next thing the idiot will say, is we must slash even more. of
course, that will only make matters worse, as we have seen all over

You're socialist bullshit is showing. The plan cuts government and not
private industry. Unless you think killing little brown assholes in
Afghanistan or Iraq is a benefit to you, or doing naked body scans and
grope searches on 5 year olds and 90 year old Nuns in wheelchairs (in
which case you're wacked) government doesn't provide you much for the
dollar.

Taking those ill spent dollars out of the hands of corrupt politicians
and LEAVING them in the pockets of consumers will be a boost to the
economy. They will spend it (having no tendency to save at all) and that
will be a big shot in the arm to the private economy.

bull shit.

the lower the tax rate goes, the lower growth goes. refute it with
verifiable, credible, reliable sources and cites if you can.

Actually Tax Cuts Don't Seem to Have Much Impact on Economic Growth...
Posted: 10/25/11 04:56 PM ET

It has been something of an article of faith among conservatives that
the solution to America's problems is in smaller government and lower
tax rates. The argument on taxes goes something like: 'We need to
unleash the wealth creators, who stimulated by the prospect of more
income (due to lower tax rates), will create wealth for all of us.'
And, that any tax increase -- for even the wealthiest taxpayers --
would have catastrophic consequences.
Actually the post World War II American economy provides a nice
empirical test of this hypothesis -- the maximum marginal income tax
rate gradually declined from about 90% to about 35%. Shouldn't this
decline have lead to an explosion of economic growth as our wealth
creators were unleashed? Sorry, Sarah Palin... it didn't.
During the ultra high tax 1950s (top marginal income tax rate of 90%),
the United States had some of its best real economic growth (over 4%/
year). And, for the decade where we had our lowest marginal income tax
rates -- we had our worst real economic growth (about 1.5%/year). (See
Table 1 below.)
So what happened? Well, first of all (Spoiler Alert! The following
will upset ideologues!), the real world is complicated. Taxes are one
part of the American economy, but by no means the only driver of our
decision making process. People are motivated by lots of things -- not
just money. In all the recent discussions about Steve Jobs, I can't
recall a single quote, anecdote or story that suggested income tax
rates had any influence on Steve Jobs' behavior. Does anyone really
believe that if US income tax rates had been slightly higher Bill
Gates would have founded Microsoft in Singapore (or some other low tax
center)? As another example -- Warren Buffet, who has been an active
investor from the 1950s to today, certainly could have moved offshore
when tax rates were higher. He didn't.
Also, keep in mind that economic growth is not driven just by
entrepreneurs and their hard work (okay, I've now simultaneously
infuriated both the left and the right). In the 1950s, the global
economy was emerging from World War II and the United States was the
only industrial economy relatively unscathed. With better policies
(arguably, the then current 90% tax rate was too high), we might have
had even higher economic growth rates in the 1950s. But, our strong
economic growth throughout the 1950s was helped by a strong tail wind
(from outside the US).
In the early 21st century, we suffered relatively anemic economic
growth (despite much lower tax rates), but we also faced a far more
competitive world and a disastrous real estate bubble. It is not clear
that lower income tax rates would have had much impact. But higher
income tax rates and other policy adjustments might have avoided the
real estate bubble from which we are now recovering.
Finally and most importantly, it is not just how the money is raised,
but how it is spent. Tax revenues that improve infrastructure, and pay
for basic research and education are investments in our future, and
will foster economic growth. Tax cuts that primarily favor high end
consumers might stimulate the purchase of luxury goods (McMansion
anyone?), but may not contribute much to overall economic growth.
My point, and I do have one -- is that ideology is a poor substitute
for pragmatic approaches to complicated problems. In fact the evidence
that tax rates influence economic growth in any way is equivocal at
best. A myriad of other factors are involved. Simply reducing tax
rates, and primarily for the wealthy, may hinder -- rather than
enhance our economic recovery.

growth rate

One is foolish to assume anything. You wrote nothing about a specific
government, national or otherwise. You specified no nation. You wrote,
"GOvernment exists to support the needs of A nation---with or without
profit."

No kidding.

Then your blanket statement is false.

That's changed nothing. I made no comment about private anything, Yorplitz.

And people called me crazy, my plan was a little easier on us than Ron
Paul's plan.

I had suggested cutting out foreign aid and cutting spending by 10% per
year until the money coming into government matches the money they are
spending. But I had several ways to make it a little less painful.

+---------------------------------------------------------------------+
Reducing regulations is primary since regulation is what stifles
commerce, the more regulations, the more it costs our economy. Most
regulations are used by existing businesses to reduce competition, and
competition would help us get out of this depression.

End the "war on drugs" make them legal(increase competition) and sold
at any drug store and push for prostitution to be legal too, that will
take the BIG money out of trafficking in drugs, and that will reduce the
gangs/dealers income and that should reduce the value of sex slaves and
hurt the human trafficking business income also. Why have illegal
prostitutes when there are so many legal tax paying prostitutes out there?

Create Bi-color money, Red money for inside the USA and Original Green
money outside the USA..... NOTHING BUT A COLOR/INK difference, and
suddenly sending red money home to Mexico would be useless as the RED
money would be useless in Mexico since the Banks and etc wouldn't accept
it abroad. All electronic money leaving the USA would be debited the
Sales tax when the money is sent/spent.

The Drug dealers would have Red money that they need to exchange for
green money, makes it hard to do in large amounts and hard to spend and
more expensive to deal with….. that *makes Drug smuggling less*
*profitable* as would dropping the income tax and installing a NATIONAL
“NEW ITEM” SALES TAX *NOT* IMPLEMENTING A VAT TAX WHICH WILL HELP THE
DRUG DEALERS and illegals by making their tax free money leaving the
country even more valuable. If they had to buy/exchange the RED money
for GREEN money then you would charge the National sales tax at that point.

Have the States Ratify an amendment withdrawing the 16th amendment...
Maybe enact something similar to the http://fairtax.org (Federal sales
tax) *BUT NOT A VAT or VALUE ADDED TAX* with the same amendment that
removes income tax and the IRS, preferably a Federal *NEW ITEM* sales tax.

This will reduce the number of tax crimes that people are in jails for
and it will give the people back their privacy. It will also promote
*GREEN* living where people will save more and waste less and buy second
hand and wear things out rather than discard and buy new. Then add to
the amendment that *if congress raises any tax by* 1% *they are forced*
*to cut*
every single expenditure of the *government by* 3%.

Begin to draw down troops as needed from around the world. Put half
of our military bases along the southern Border to minimize the amount
of border that the Border patrol needs to watch, the military and
Federal trespassing laws will push the illegals to spaces between the
military bases.

This tax/border policy will financially assault the drug dealers and
hookers and other underground economy's by forcing them to have to pay
tax when they *spend their money* , which will further reduce the
benefit of dealing in other illegal stuff. There needs to be one type
of dollar for use inside America and one type(color) of dollars for use
outside the USA. That will make it harder for smugglers to get money out
of the country and if they do spend it here then they will pay the sales
tax and that money is used to enforce the laws to catch smugglers. We
are "right now" taking money from peoples pay checks before they get
them and at the same time we don't tax drug dealers or hookers and
illegals or others at all, we are penalizing the working Americans and
giving a bonus to illegal activity. Sales tax will also encourage saving
money rather than encouraging the leveraging of every dime you can
borrow like income tax does.

This will drive people in the underground economy to become part of the
real economy. It will stop most of the turf killings and end our
immigration problems with illegals stealing identities since they will
be paying tax(as sales tax). Offer illegals less welfare and charge them
tax and they won't be so eager to come here and we won't need to chase
them......

End Social Security/Medicare, grandfather it out of existence.

Pass an amendment to the constitution that makes all
*laws_and_treaties* have a seven year sunset clause, and it requires
that each law/treaty be voted by a separate roll call vote every seven
years to continue to be maintained in our laws.

There should also be some constitutional amendments to stifle congress'
borrowing and spending making it more difficult for that process. And a
constitutional amendment to limit the Interstate Commerce Clause. The
politicians use that clause to justify all sorts of socialist crap. The
founding fathers never meant for it to be so broadly applied. Limit it
with an amendment, so government can't justify every crazy idea by
saying its legal under the interstate commerce clause.

Pass another amendment creating term limits on congress so the House
has 6 terms and the Senate has 2 terms, for a total of 12 years in
either side of congress. WE NEED TO STOP CONGRESS FROM PASSING FRIVOLOUS
LAWS TAXES AND BORROWING AND ENDLESSLY PRINTING MONEY.

To quit filling the jails with people over *social taboos* , we
need to take away congress' ability to "social engineer" businesses or
private people by removing the governments use of tax code to manipulate
people.

Government needs to spend 10% less every year until they meet the
income of the government. The best way, is to
*use_both_cutting_and_taxing* , the Congress should implement a rule to
force an across the board spending freeze and then across the board cuts
on the government spending, to do that we have to include a law in our
TAX amendment to the constitution that can't be easily circumvented, to
force them to cut spending 3% for every 1% Congress raise taxes. So any
federal sales tax increase would result in automatic spending cuts using
a baseline of 10% taxes.

And we need to give up our roll as the police man of the world, let
them fight their own fights. We also need fewer crimes for people to be
committing, we need fewer police and prisons to support.... the above
drug and tax plan, will reduce police and prison needs by at least that
10% that this plan suggested cutting each year.

NO welfare to corporations, and cut welfare to private people by 10%
each year until it is 10% of today's cost. Any way you look at it, we're
in DEEP for a long time.

Tuesday 26 July 2011
by: Paul Krugman, Krugman & Co. | Op-Ed

Someday, one way or another, Greece will exit from its current state of
indentured servitude. But what will it do for a living? I often hear
assertions that the answer is nothing.

What can the Greeks export? the critics ask.

In general, my response to such claims is that those commentators suffer
from the fallacy of misplaced concreteness: An economy, even that of a small
nation, is a very complex thing, with more possibilities than a casual
top-down overview can reveal.

Still, its nice to see Kemal Dervis who is the vice president for global
economics at the Brookings Institution and someone who actually knows
something about the Aegean economy weighing in with some specific ideas.
As a member of the E.U. and as a high-income country, despite current
difficulties, Greeces growth cannot be based on being a manufacturing hub
for simple products produced with low wages, Mr. Dervis explained in The
Financial Times on July 7.

Mr. Dervis continued: A high-quality tourism sector will remain central in
Greeces future, strengthened and complemented by more cultural activities,
retirement communities from northern Europe and high-quality medical
services at advantageous costs It should find niches in the
high-technology sector and participate in its worldwide structure. Finally,
with considerable potential for wind and solar energy, green technologies
can, in the longer run, become a major source of growth.

That sounds plausible. Basically, Mr. Dervis is saying location, location,
location and surely thats right. A spectacular archipelago in a wonderful
climate thats part of Europe should offer many opportunities once Greece is
no longer being crucified on a cross of euros.

And Socialists believe that if killing one person can be GOOD for the
government, then killing millions must be a million times better....

Socialists are tiny little Stalin's that want total government control.

Summary: Ray is a classic usenet zoo monkey. Liars, once they have
been exposed, frequently revert to behavior most similar to a zoo

nothing of value. Note that when you reply to a Proven Liar you
encourage them to continue lying.

attacks have been suicidal in nature. This deliberate involvement of

What would cause a person to ignore the fact that Americans
need to restore real ballots and confirmed counts?
