Boy, that one sure died fast, joining carbs and other fad words in
the junk pile of history.
instead of buzzwords, maybe more actual personal responsibility and
esp. societal,
corporate and political responsibility is in order.

It died when the biggest "green" loudmouth, Al Gore, was calculated to
have a carbon footprint 20 times the national average.

What part of it is wrong? If you have conflicting data on Al Gore's
heating bill, please post a copy for everyone to see.

I'm sure Cheney has similar expenditures. The difference is that he's
not flying around in private jets telling everyone to conserve. Do
you not recognize extreme hypocrisy when you see it?

Maybe, but the oil barons (which are best buddies with Bu$h) have a
far-far worse carbon foot print
from the products they sell, and they have no qualms squashing
anything that threatens to ultimately
replace their product.

What are you talking about? Al Gore tells me to use less energy, yet
he uses 20 times the amount of the average family. Walk the talk, Mr.
VP.

None of this conflicts with the amount of energy Al Gore consumes.
Why are you such an apologist? Don't you think Al Gore should follow
his own advice?

I'd like them to work on changing over to a replacement fuel, and
sell the oil for
making things like plastic.

Should they keep polluting the enviroment knowing damn well what they
are doing AND trying their
best to squash technologies that are much cleaner and just as good if
not better?

What? A replacement fuel for what vehicles? If we have internal
combustion engines, and gasoline is the best bet.

So now the sellers of oil are polluting the environment?

BTW, You didn't answer my question.

What technologies? If there were better technologies, they would be
used.

What kind of fuel does your car burn?

BTW, you're more than free to get some venture capitalists together
and start your own company to develop an alternate fuel.

When Cheney travels around the country lecturing people on gun
safety, on the evils of letting no-competitive-bid governement
contracts, and the environmental damage done by Halliburton, that's
hypocrisy.

I don't know what Cheney has said in public regarding "family values"
and heterophobia, but you just might find hypocrisy in public statements
about homosexual unions and his approval or lack thereof vs. his
treatment of his daughter.

wrong link (that one was a hoax, unfortunately) Here's the right one:

http://wave3.com/Global/story.asp?s=4934566 This one still uses gas,
but someday, this thing might
be able to run purely on water (actualy, HHO) if he can get the
problems worked out of storing the HHO
(so the gas part isn't needed) and possible rust/corrosion problems
with the engine.

How odd that they havent squashed the hydrogen you refer to below.

How odd that they havent squashed that.

And the production of the hydrogen still pollutes anyway.

Nope, there's plenty of buses running on hydrogen now.

There's plenty of buses running on hydrogen now.

The problem is that they still pollute because the production of the hydrogen pollutes.

IOW, there are no better technologies.

And how exactly have the oil companies squashed this research you're
pointing to? How much capital have you expended in developing new
fuel technologies? What kind of fuel does YOUR car burn? (obviously,
gasoline, otherwise you would have answered already).

BTW, you realize that water vapor is an even MORE damaging greenhouse
gas than CO2, right?

See, here's the deal. Oil companies, really ALL companies, or at
least though who wish to stay in business for more than a few years,
are going to manufacture or produce a product people actually WANT to
buy. This benefits the manufacturer AND the consumer. Think what
would happen if all oil companies decided tomorrow to abandon oil,
stop refining gasoline, and directed all of their resources on new
technology, for the "betterment" of "society" and the environment. Do
you want that?
