Yes, yes, of course - those horrible days of 4.6% unemployment and 167
billion dollar deficit.

Since the Democrats have annexed power, unemployment has doubled, and
the deficit increased a ten fold.

My parents own their home, free and clear. My wife and I have a fixed
mortgage and are quite safe, thank you.

If mortgages hit 18%, it will be because of Obama's habit of printing
money and borrowing from the chi-coms. Happened in the 70% when
Carter was in office.

You must be referring to the 3.9% unemployment and budget surpluses Clinton
left for Bush. Clinton even stated that if his policies remained intact the
national debt would be eliminated by 2016. I guess Clinton had no idea that
a Republican would succeed him. And by your own admission, Bush fucked it
up to 4.6% (2001) unemployment, but you conveniently omitted 5.5% (2004),
6.6% (2008) and 7.6% (1/2009). That's a lot of negative momentum, wouldn't
you say?

Well, your knowledge of history seems to be very selective. My knowledge of
history has me thinking of the idiot Chris Cox running the SEC and allowing
Madoff to screw everyone; the bums of the month club (one clown was fired
from Alcoa and the other was fired from CSX ), until Hank Paulson came out
of retirement, that ran Bush's Treasury.

And if you are going to repeat the crybaby crap about the Democrats in
congress, please tell us where was Bush's veto pen if the Democrats were
even half as disasterous as you often allege.

> Since the Democrats have annexed power, unemployment has doubled, and
> the deficit increased a ten fold.

Doubled?

Well you are finally right about something, albeit partially right. The
doubling (well almost doubling) was from Clinton's 3.9% unemployment to
Bush's 7.6%. That's eight years of negative momentum that is now settled at
9.2%. Like I keep telling you, it took FDR eight years (20-30% GOP
unemployment to 9.7% in 1941) to undo similar damage by the GOP. However,
in the past two years the negative job growth of the Bush administration has
turned around into 2 million new jobs and the S&P 500 improved by 80%.
That's a lot of progress.

-- When Carter was in office we were finally presented with all the
guns-n-butter bills for the Vietnam War (another war that was financed by
credit card). If you want to blame the financing of the Vietnam War on
Carter, go ahead as it would be impossible to lower your credibility any
further.

-- Bush's sending everyone a $300 check while we were engaged in a two front
war had nothing to do with it?

-- Somehow you seem to "think" that conducting a trillion dollar war in Iraq
can be done for free. I realize you have the intelligence of a Bush voter
so I am forced to tell you that (1) there were NO WMDs and (2) it wasn't
free.

Actually, the economy chugged along for about a year after Pelosi and
Reid infected the Congress. THEN the wheels fell off.

About what happened before - where was the catholic view back when you
listed (to the penny) how much debt occurred while the President was
in office?

Nope. I'm talking about the 4.6% unemployment rate and the 167
billion dollar deficit in 2006, under George W. Bush.

Since Pelosi and Reid took over, unemployment has doubled. The
deficit has increased a ten fold.

Yes, yes, we know that you LOVE to give Clinton credit for what the
GOP Congress actually did.

I never doubted Bill Clinton's political genius. The man was
talented, no question. He deftly stole credit for policies he
actively fought against. He's charming, he's smart, he thought three
steps ahead of his opponents.

Then there's Obama.

The guy is literally the least talented President in US history. He's
an arrogant fool. He's shoved through a doomed healthcare plan. He's
destroying the US economy to fight a non-existent crisis - "Global
Warming." Or is it now "Climate Change," or "Climate Crisis", or
"Shut Up, Shut Up, Shut Up, I'm Right, I've Got a Degree That Says I'm
Smarter Than you, Fool."

Obama is in way over his head - and THAT'S why you're desperate to
change to topic back to Clinton.

Any reason you cut out the following (BWHAHAHAHAHAHA):

"You must be referring to the 3.9% unemployment and budget surpluses Clinton

national debt would be eliminated by 2016. I guess Clinton had no idea that

you say?"

So now you are alleging Pelosi and Reid took over in 2004 (5.5%
unemployment) and 2008 (6.6% unemployment)?

You would have made a great historian in the old Soviet Union. In the USSR
an historian was defined as "one who can pedict the past."

With a selective recall of made-up history it's no wonder you love Harding
so much.

Sorry to return you to reality but Harding was the mad fucker of DC having
fathered an illigitimate little girl (the kid even showed reporters
Harding's toothbrush) and hading over billions to Harry Sinclair. Harding
even had the opportunity to stop WW2 if he were not opposed to the League of
Nations but screwed that up too just like he screwed four DC women, all of
whom were his wife's friends. According to the Wikipedia, by 2024 Harding's
love letters to the girls will be unsealed. Hope you live long enough to
enjoy them.

And I'm not the only one who said Harding was one giant screw-up. Steve
Forbes admitted that Harding was a flunkie. His only accomplishment was
integrating the Federal civil service, which anyone would admit that for the
1920s it was indeed a great accomplishment but does not diminish the reality
that Harding was the worst among the worst.

A very good reason - I'm not letting you change the topic.

Since the Democrats took over both Houses, unemployment has doubled,
and the deficit has increased a ten fold.

OBAMA IS A FAILED PRESIDENT. Everything you've preached for five
years has fallen apart - and it's only going to get worse from here.

What I posted are facts. As in "inconvenient truths".

If this happened a year after the GOP took over both Houses, you can
bet your ass YOU'D know who to blame.

> The Policies enacted by, and during, the 1994-2007 reign of error of

And by "reign of terror, you mean the years the GOP House created a
SURPLUS. When the Democrats took over both Houses in 2007,
unemployment was 4.6%, and the deficit was ONE TENTH what it is today.

> Even a goddamn moron like you ought to know that there's "blue sky"

Yeah, the Democrats had a full year of blue sky in 2007 before they
doubled unemployment and increased the deficit a ten fold.

Which is why the GOP isn't handing Obama the keys to the car again,
after he, and the Democrats, drove it into a ditch.

We'll let him sit in the back, but we don't want to hear him talk.

> ALL set up by republicans

Except that in the last year the Republicans were in charge,
unemployment was 4.6%, and the deficit one tenth what it is today.

> The public debt on 9/30/1981

Let's cut through the clutter, shall we?

You've just insisted that we must not pay any attention to facts (or
as you call them "facts") because they don't tell the entire story.

You then posted a series of debt increases by President, without any
info on who controlled Congress at the time.

It's getting harder and harder to keep your fantasy alive, isn't it?

Compared to the 3.9% that Clinton left for Bush, it was part of a horror
story. Even in Washington DC, $1T lost in Iraq IS real money (with homage
paid to Everett McKinley Dirksen) that would have ameliorated a good portion
of the current deficit.

Yeah. Facts seem to get in your way don't they? Facts like a progression
of increased unemployment during the administration of George W. Bush that
has finally leveled off at 9.2%.

BTW How much have you "invested" with Goldline? :)

So here are the facts again. You are free to address the facts or you can
write bullshit all day long about some pimp that was POTUS from 1921 to
1923. As for me, life is too short to respond to bullshit artists.

Do you define "facts" as "anything you feel like saying at the
moment?"

When Pelosi and Reid were sworn in on January 3, 2009, unemployment
was 4.6%.

Two years later, when Obama was sworn in, it had skyrocketed to 7.6%.

Today, it's 9.2%

Don't believe me. Look it up yourself.

Two and a half years ago, Obama received almost a trillion dollars to
fix exactly those problems, and keep unemployment in the 7% range.

Two and a years later, we have 9.2% unemployment, and pretty much the
same problems.

WHERE DID THE MONEY GO?

Which empirical fact do you deny?

That in 2006, the unemployment rate was 4.6%?

Or that, in the same year, the deficit was 167 billion?

The GOP has a track record of creating every economic depression over the
past 150 years. In fact a number of economists predicted a depression during
the Bush43 years based on (1) the GOP's track record of recklessness and (2)
dismantling of the New Deal era's regulations of the financial services
industry.

It looks like informing Steel that his hero, Pres. Harding, was nothing more
than a pimp and a bagman, was insufficient trauma to get him to stop
polluting the Usenet with bullshit. I am hoping the facts presented above
will finally act as a colonoscopy prep for "Steel."

It appears that presenting hard verifiable data has the impact of a
colonoscopy prep on "Steel" because it causes him/her to spew out even more
bullshit.

For his next act, "Steel" is going to explain how Pres. Harding's
facilitating the theft of $billions (in 1921 money) of America's mineral
wealth helped the USA get out of some fictitious "depression" that is lodged
in "Steel's" head.

Then how did Obama manage to triple the deficit?

You mean like the Depression of 1921, that Warren G. Harding ended in
a bit over a year?

Or the Depression caused two years after Pelosi/Reid took over both
Houses of Congress, and tripled the deficit?

Harding ended something?
Pres. Harding didn't even end fucking his wife's four best friends or
fathering a babiy with one of his girlfriends while in the White House. Now,
that's what I call a true conservative.

And speaking of Harding's fucking up...
Harding fucked up a lot more than just his wife's four best friends. We can
start with the depression that was caused by Harding handing to Harry
Sinclair around $2B (in 1922 dollars) in mineral assets owned by the United
States government. Or how about discussing why Harding allowed stock
purchasing on 10% margin which led to a REAL depression six years later?

In your mind was there a depression following WW1. There was no
unemployment data back then but it was estimated the unemployment in 1921was
about the same as during the midpoint of Reagan's first term, somewhere
between 10 to 11%.

>
> Or the Depression caused two years after Pelosi/Reid took over both

I think you are referring to the 3.9% unemployment rate Clinton handed to
Bush, which the GOP then converted to:

5.7% (12/2001)

6.0% (12/2002)

6.3% (6/2003)

...and to make a long, disgusting story short,
7.6% Bush handed to Obama in January 2009 plus the bankruptcy of Lehman
Brothers Bear, Stearns, the almost-bankruptcy of AIG and the chain reaction
caused by the GOP congress' failure to regulate financial derivatives.

But if you want to talk about Pelosi and Reid's actions in congress, to
which one of congress' overrides of Bush's veto are you referring?

Yes, the Depression of 1921.

He also paid back Wilson's war debt, balanced the budget, and tamed
inflation. He also took on the KKK, and broke their back. They still
continued for another thirty or so years, but they were nowhere near
the power they were under Wilson, who supported them.

All the Democrats could do was in retaliation was to bluster, throw
racial slurs, and spread gossip.

> Pres. Harding didn't even end fucking...

Yeah, crap like that from equally small minded jerks, such as
yourself.

(sigh)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbhnRuJBHLs

Oh, the Democrats also accused Harding of being 1/32 black. They
passed out literally millions of pamphlets which featured a photograph
of the White House followed by the line "Uncle Tom's Cabin."

The Hell there wasn't.

And who came up with that number? Noted Obama hack Christina Romer,
the Keynesian who slapped together the disastrous Stimulus Bill.
(Remember? The one that Since she strongly promoted huge government
spending, she had to downplay Harding's smashing success. And even
she could only cook the books enough to get the number down to 11%.

Contempory sources certainly thought of the America Wilson left to
Harding as nothing short of an out and out disaster.

“With the exception of Lincoln, probably no president in our national
history has taken office with as pressing a burden of unresolved
questions.”

And after a nearly trillion dollar "Stimulus Bill", we have an
unemployment rate of 9.2%. We have a de facto unemployment/
underemployment rate of 16%.

No, actually, it was the DEMOCRATS who didn't want to regulate
financial institutions. Bush tried on several occasions, but was
shouted down with cries of "racism".

Waaaahhhhhhhh - Bush didn't stop the Democrats from fucking things
up. It's all Bush's fault that he didn't stop us.
