I seem to remember Jim Henson and Sammy Davis Jr. going bye-bye on the
same day....can anybody confirm?
I'm pretty sure that it was Aldous Huxley (BRAVE NEW WORLD) who died the
same day as JFK.

The question didn't say "not as a result of the same event." ;-)
Thomas Jefferson & John Adams....on the Fourth of July, no less!!
I think Aldous Huxley also died on Nov. 22, 1963.
(I take it that Officer Tippett [sp?] is not
considered a celebrity.)

How many pairs of famous people were BORN on the same day?
(Isaac Asimov and the present Duke of Devonshire were born January
2,1920...three present hereditary peers were born January 22,1924 BTW;
Jimmy Carter and William Rehnquist were both born October 1,1924).
Louis-Ferdinand Celine (French novelist and notorious anti-semite) and E.
Hemingway.
David Susskind and Andy Warhol.

The same day John Lennon was killed.
He got 1 paragraph in the LA Times
Sorry, Vincent Price died on October 25, 1993.
But Frederico Fellini-the Italian film director died on Oct 31, 1993
same as River Phoenix.

Actually, Vincent Price died on October 25, 1993. It was the first
thing I
heard on the radio the Tuesday before Halloween.

...actually, Price had died earlier that week; it was Frederico Fellini who
shared the obit page with Phoenix...
I'm pretty sure that Abbie Hoffman died in 1989.

Just saw this on the ng, so I am sorry if these are repeats:
Sen. Joe McCarthy (5/2/57) and J. Edgar Hoover (5/2/72)
The most obvious:
Presidents John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, July 4, 1826 ... 50 years
to the day of the signing of Declaration of Independence. James
Madison also died on a July 4, I believe.
> Didn't Fellini die the same day as River Phoenix?
Yes, the day before Halloween I think.

remove the "nospam" from the e-mail address please!
Your math is good. There are two categories, in my view equally
interesting: those who died on the same month and day, and those who
died on exactly the same date. I misinterpreted the topic.
But how about this one: Aldous Huxley died on November 22, 1963, as
did John F. Kennedy.
As did C.S. Lewis and Moors Murders victim John Kilbride...
this was covered upthread.
> Could it be that Huxley was the 2nd gunman on the grassy knoll and accidentally shot himself?
Conspiracies abound!!!
I think we are interested in famous people.........The Notorious B.I.G.
hardly qualifies as human......let alone famous!!!

PS Glenn Miller and Ftas Waller also were BORN on Aug 21 (this month)
1904.
So they both lived 21st Aug 1904-15th Dec 1944?
Any other pairs of the famous that coincidental?
BTW, the two were bitter enemies, and reportedly, the last words of
Adams were, "Jefferson survives". He was wrong, since Jefferson died
earlier.
Off the topic, James Madison also died on the 4th of July. Only one
President was born on the 4th of July, Calvin Coolidge, that man of
few words. (Someone once told him he had made a bet with another man
that he could induce Coolidge to say more than two words at once.
Coolidge reportedly replied, "You lose.")
BW
Although the two had a falling out, they were reconciled many years
before their death, and the correspondence between them during those
final years is one of the most famous in the realm of letters.
> Off the topic, James Madison also died on the 4th of July.
James Madison died on June 28, 1836, at Montpelier, the Virginia estate
that had been his home for 85 years. Or so says The People's Almanac.

> President was born on the 4th of July, Calvin Coolidge,
Congratulations! You got one right. Calvin Coolidge was born July 4,
1872.
You almost won the Miss Information contest.
