LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Former Doors drummer John Densmore has filed for
divorce from his wife of 16 years.
Densmore, 62, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for
ending his marriage to documentary filmmaker Leslie Frances Neal,
according to papers filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
He was seeking joint legal and physical custody of their 14-year-old
daughter, Luka.
The Doors dissolved several years after singer Jim Morrison died in
1971. Densmore became involved in various theater and writing
projects. He wrote a biography and helped Neal produce the
documentaries "Juvies" and "Road to Return."
He also became estranged from former bandmates -- keyboardist Ray
Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger -- after a lawsuit over use of
the group's name.
A judge last year issued a permanent injunction banning Krieger and
Manzarek from calling themselves the Doors and using any likeness of
Morrison to promote a renewed version of the band.
