Buckle up for safety, buckle up.
Buckle up for safety, always buckle up.
Show the world you care,
use it everywhere.
Buckle up for safety.
When you're driving
Buckle Up!

Cheers,

And don't forget:

Buckle up for safety, buckle up.
Buckle up for safety, always buckle up.

Put your mind at ease,
Tell your drivers please.
"Keep your seat belts buckled"
Everybody buckle up...

Now tell me, why do I remember that?

I used to play in a wedding band with the guy who wrote this.
Trentledge (sp?) was his last name, forget his first, it's been so
long ago. Great guy to work with, taught me a lot about gigging. He
also wrote the Oscar Meyer Wiener song.

"Pull your seat belt snug!
Give an extra tug!
Buckle up for safety, when you're driving, buckle up!"

Must be da fella that ASCAP knows as Richard D. Trentlage, to wit:

Name
TRENTLAGE RICHARD D
Title(s):
I LOVE TO BE
I WISH I WERE OSCAR MAYER J
SINGING TALKING HOT DOG (OSCAR MAYER)

I note that "Buckle Up" is not licensed thru ASCAP and BMI never heard
of him. 'tis always possible he licensed it thru another agency.

Here is the jingle. Copy & paste.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq3cQVrnaWs

Someone else asked, "Why do I remember these things?" Me, too. I remember all sorts of things from yesteryear but at age 64, in college, memorization is quite a challenge.

Be grateful for what you have, I guess. Getting old is denied to many people. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, friends!

It's also like remembering...
"Go places, see new faces
In scenicland USA,
Drivers in the west
Think Chevron gas is best
This is what they say

Chevron gas keeps your car on the run...
(Now what?)

So when you go places
The best stopping place is
At the Chevron sign!

The same reason the rest of us remember it.... catchy tune, and we probably saw it a million times. Same with the Oscar Meyer song.
