As far as Hughey's guitars, the close up's I've seen of the headstock doesnt
look like Fender. I've seen close up several time at concerts etc. and I really
don't think they are Fenders.

Good call. I also use the Ax2. I also sent an email off to Peavey and they
verified that Gary uses a stock amp other than getting it tweaked from time
to time. They also mentioned that Gary uses a Classic 100 from time to time.
