Well, I'm sitting here listening to Moxy Fruvous' first commercial
release, and its not too shabby. Aside from the usual over-production one
always notices when a band moves to multi-track recording, the sound is
pretty good.

I'm not too hot on some of the new numbers which have a lot of
"rock'n'roll" instrumentation, but _Fell_In_Love_ is right up there with
the old brilliant vocal chords you will remember from the indie release.
There are some more tongue-in-cheek, Ha Ha Only Serious, style songs in
there as well. Well worth the money, IMHO.

Anyone else got a copy of this that cares to throw their opinion in?

Colin

My wife and I saw them at UBC's Thunderbird Stadium and were very
impressed. I'm looking forward to picking up the new album.

Two questions:

1) Would anyone mind taking the time to type in a song list from the new
album (and from the indie release, if possible)?

2) What is the name, label, and catalogue number of the indie release?

The songs from their Canada Day act that I liked and am looking to get
recordings of include the Green Eggs and Ham rap, My Baby Loves a Bunch of
Authors, and, of course, The King of Spain.

If you want Green Eggs and Ham, you'll have to get the indie cassette.
The other five songs from the cassette are apparently on the new CD,

Greetings,

My spousal unit and I are big Moxie Fruvous fans (so big that our copy
of the cassette has died). I have had difficulty getting a copy of the
indie release here in the US. Any chance someone could send me a copy of the
new recording (preferably on CD, if available) and a copy of the
cassette (assuming the arrangements and performance are different)? I'd
be perfectly happy to send a check in advance to cover cost and
postage.

E-mail me: cro...@andy.bgsu.edu

Thanks,

I picked up a copy of Bargainville yesterday myself, and I must say that as
a fan of their first release (make that BIG FAN), I was very happy with my
little purchase. As was mentioned earlier, Green Eggs and Ham is the only
song from the original tape that was not included on the new one. There are
fifteen songs in all, most of which will sound familiar to anyone who's
heard them in concert lately.

My verdict: Two big thumbs up!

Mike.

P.S. Do any Moxy Fruvous fans out there know when and where the group will
be appearing in the near future? I've seen them twice and I'd love to catch
them again.

Ummmm... it was an indie release. Indie = No label... therefore no catalog
number.

Bargainville by Moxy Fruvous: Distributed by Warner... WEA CD 93134 (in
Canada anyways. I wouldn't think the cat. number would change in the US)
