Actually, the title is "Celery Stalks at Midnight" and whoever(is it Ray
McKinley?) screams "Celery Stalks Along the Highway."

Yes, there was more than just that line shouted at the end of the Bradley
version. A complete set of lyrics was written by the prolific Carl Sigman
(Ballerina, It's All In The Game, Ebb Tide, What Now My Love, etc.).
One recorded version from early 1941 was by Les Brown's Orchestra, featuring a
young Doris Day on Okeh 6098, available in CCM's "Complete Doris Day with Les
Brown" double CD set.
They ain't much, but here they are :-)
Celery stalks at midnight,
Lurking in the moonlight.
What's this funny nightmare
All about?
Celery stalks at midnight,
Mounted on their broomsticks,
Gliding through the treetops,
In and out.
It's like a bad dream...
A great big kind of mad dream.
Must have been something that I ate,
No doubt.
Celery stalks at midnight,
Lurking in the moonlight.
What's this very funny nightmare
All about?
