Foxidrive had been suffering severe health problems in recent years and
unfortunately passed away on Thursday.

Though we never met, we did communicate infrequently over many years via
email, BBS message areas and then newsgroups.

He had very considerable technical knowledge and regularly assisted many
other members of the computer club to which we both belonged.

On very many occasions he demonstrated his coding skills here and in other
newsgroups.

He is sadly missed and is now at peace.

May he be remembered of the good deeds he have done in this newsgroup.

Yep but now his suffering is over.

He was truly one of the mainstays of this group for many years. I had
absolutely no idea he was having medical problems.... We all will miss
him terribly!

He'll be universally missed. Do you know how old he was? Did he at
least live a long life?

Back in July he told me that he was 57 years old.

He is indeed being missed by many other members of our computer club, even
though he left it more than a year ago.

He was very generous in sharing his knowledge and assisting others.

Only became aware of it myself in the last year.

This is a major loss to this newsgroup and to DOS programmers everywhere.
Rest in peace FoxiDrive.

My profound respects for his great contributions to the community. Rest
in peace our great batch friend.

Web based forums are like subscribing to 10 different newspapers
and having to visit 10 different news stands to pickup each one.
Email list-server groups and USENET are like having all of those
newspapers delivered to your door every morning.

This is rather the first time I've responded to this news group.

Benefited a lot from his contribution, thanks for the update to the group. Really would like to express my thanks to him though like most, we probably never see nor even interact before.

Have peace.

Thank you for sharing this sad information about a good friend to many
in several newsgroups. His enthusiasm for helping and solving problems
for others continued until his final weeks. His posts will be missed.

He definitely was very generous with his knowledge and expertise in
assisting so many others over several decades AFAIK.

Yes, he is already being missed by many in various coding areas on the Net.

I hope that you might consider doing so more often from now.
It's only by individuals participating that newsgroups like this continue to
flourish and be attractive to others.

Foxidrive would approve!

I noticed this a bit late but let me add how sad it is that foxidrive is no longer with us. He was certainly both masterful and helpful in the matters of this group and will be certainly missed.
