Hello to all
I am guilty of lurking for quite a while now so I thought I'd introduce myself.....
I have had FM for years but was just diagnosed last week and right now
life sucks (sorry, if that offends anyone, I have learned alot does) I really
feel awful, my legs are not trustworthy, they feel like they are falling apart
every time I lift them off the ground (anyone??) and ache like crazy, at
this point all I want to do is go to sleep, but of course that is out of the question!!
I am 54 w/f married, wonderful husband (am I lucky or what!!??) great
support, but I feel I'm cheating him!! We just can't do and go anymore
and its MY fault. I guess its a I feel sorry for me day. Some of you seem
so strong and I need that right now, since I was the strong one in the family
before I fell apart! Well I want you to know I read at least some of the posts
everyday and you for the most part (GRIN) have helped me cope .
Thanks......there is a Suzanne I have seen so I'll be cerebell

>Hi Suzanne, I too am new here, I also really like WebMd have you tried
their boards? I was DX a little over 4 mos. ago, but have had FMS for
many years, just couldn't find the right Dr.. I am 46 and have a 19 yr.
old son, married to a really great guy that is trying so hard to learn
and understand what is going on. I would say we are truly blessed, I
know women whose families still don't believe anything is wrong with
them even after a proper DX. I have tried several different meds, and
am now on Klonopin, 2MG. at night , Soma as needed and Vicodin for the
really bad times, I just weaned myself off Wellbutrin a few weeks ago.
I think the Klonopin is going to have to go. Something is making me
depressed and that has to be the culprit, so will experiment with
something else soon as I go see my Rheum., she is wonderful. It is hard
to keep your chin up sometimes when you just feel so ***** all the
time. I am reading everything I can find and trying to educate myself.
I walk almost everyday for 20 to 30 min. and we just started a T'AI CHI
class last night, I am hoping that will help. Lots of luck to you,
there are a lot of nice people out here more than willing to give some
good advice.Barbara

   hi there,
I read your letter & I think you would be cheating your self if you didn't rest.I know how the guilt feels I had it for a long time & it still comes back at times. You will need , take help when you can , educate your family & friends about FMS, they need to know really what you are going through. We all know it isn't easy. I have a girl who is 3yrs old & a boy who is 5 yrsold, it's hard because I can't give them the attention they deserve.I have to get better so I can be the mother they should have, so you have to give into the fatigue & rest.I hope you are  feeling abit better soon, speak to your husband, he'll understand .bye for now ,Margaret

Hi Suzanne,
I'm sorry that you have this fun stuff. It does feel as if it's our fault that we cannot do the same things we used to. Of course it's NOT our fault.
We'd be overjoyed to be able to return to our former activities.
You need some written info for you and your husband to read so that the 'fault' part no longer is in the picture.
Best of luck, and don't worry too much about 'offending'. We all get touchy at times, but there's usually no harm done.
Smiles, BetsyD

Marge....usually on this NG when we see someone post to a reply with a great
and wonderful product that has helped them to be almost pain free, usually it
is spam. if yo are NOT spamming I apologize in advance....

If you are not, it would be a good idea to post to the entire group to what it
is that has turned your life around....

Thanks...
Teresa
