Even with the dial set to least cold, it gets to about 25F. I think it
is running 100%. Interior light out, but that is likely a separate issue.

Thoughts?

Thermostat stuck in the "on" position? Dirty or pitted contacts?

I haven't even begun to look into it. I am just happy it is too cold,
rather than not cold at all.

Thanks for the suggestions. Might also be the relay. There really
isn't much to this gizmo.

Would you happen to have a 120 volt timer laying around for a
temporary
cure?

nothing in this cooler now, so don't need a temporary cure. I like your
thinking, though.

Join Alcoholics Anonymous. Then you wont need this cooler and you'll be
sober enough to haul it to your trash can.

Question...

If you let the compressor run and run to maintain that temp, aren't you
shortening it's expected lifetime?

I'm wondering if its hard on the compressor to run it like that all the
time...myself.

why would I run it like this? It would freeze the wine.

Er, I don't know? I'm only going by what you initially posted...

Where did I say I was going to actually run it 100% of the time? That
was a description of its symptoms. It is unplugged now, of course. You
a big dope, or?

It's amazing to me that a thermoelectric cooler cold even reach
tempeatures that low. (I'm assuming "EWAVE" indicates that it is
thermoelectric.

No, it has a compressor. I don't get the EWAVE name either.

And, just to be clear, it is STILL unplugged! LOL

If you plugged it in you could probably get it even colder ;)

You said you thought it was running all the time, so, based on what
you wrote, I thought you were actually 'running it all the time';
Most coolers remain plugged in, I didn't know you were testing it and
unplugging it because it wasn't shutting the compressor down, as far
as you could determine. You left those details out.

I didn't know what you chilled in the damn thing, either. You didn't
initially mention it.

Sorry for the confusion on my part?

> It is unplugged now, of course.

I'd hope so. :)

> You a big dope, or?

Nope. Just going by what you wrote... was all.

Do the world a favor. Put a rifle against you head and pull the trigger.

From the sound of the symptoms, it sounds like there is a faulty
thermostat.
