<
Just the other day -- well, actually on July 29, 1996 --
de...@hell.com (Darwin Boy) -- Chuck's great-great-grandson -- wrote
to talk.origins admitting his gggggrandpappy was wrong and Ed Conrad
is right . . .
<
< Scrapings from Ed Conrad's frontal lobes
< reveal clear evidence of Carboniferous
< Haversian canals when viewed under my
< Woolworth Junior Scientist Kit microscope.
<
Ed was tickled pink:
<
Congratulations! You've got a mighty fine microscope there.
<
I've just used my Tinkertoy microscope to check out your findings and
I'm pretty sure I'm seeing what you're seeing, except I think I'm also
seeing some bark of Lepidodendron and some droppings from a giant
prehistoric scorpion.
<
I'm wondering if your Woolworth's Junior Scientist Kit microscope also
cost $32.50 and was imported from Taiwan?
<
Incidentlly, soon as I get a few extra bucks, I'm going to order one
of those Tinkertoy telescopes. I sort of question those photos
being beamed back from the Hubble and I'd sure like to check them out
for myself.

<
Mark Steese (Stees...@jacksoncounty.org) responded, happier than a
hornet::
<
< All right, who's responsible for this?
<
< Someone's actually managed to write
< an 'Ed Conrad' spoof that's funny enough
< to almost be believable as a real post from
< lovable, furry old Ed.
<
< It's a little too obvious, but it's still great,
< especially the total non-sequitur shift to
< the Hubble in the last paragraph.
<
< Keep up the good work!

< WERE OUR GGGGGGGRANDPA'S
< EXTRATERRESTRIALS?
<
http://www.spacedaily.com/images/hubble-ultradeep-desk-1024.jpg
<
This is the Hubble's greatest photo that was taken of a black speck
of
sky shown in a previous astounding photo of space that it had taken
previously
<
This view captures the mind-boggling outreaches of the universe as if
taken through an eight-inch straw.
<
No question, almost the same mind-boggling scene would be evident no
matter where the Hubble is pointed. The size of the universe is THAT
incredible.
<
All astrophysicists and even Stephen Hawking and Pope Benedict XVI
agree with Ed Conrad that, IF there is intelligent life in the
universe, it probably exists on a planet in some far-distant galaxy
trillions, maybe zillions, of light years from earth. But they
strongly doubt it.

WHERE THESE BEAUTIES WERE FOUND

Here's a map showing a spectacular cross-section of coal veins beneath
Mahanoy City, Pa. It reveals the impact of an asteroid, meteor or
comet having struck the earth and offering the undeniable physical
evidence of a catastrophe.
