I use WowMatrix to keep my addons up to date. it has updated my
auctioneer addon set, but it still is not working properly since the
last patch.

Whenever I mouse over anything in my bag, I get a message that it cannot
open 'auctionScanData' is overwriting it with 'auctionSimpleScanData'.

When I do an AH scan, I am told at the end that there were 0 items in
the database at start, and now XXX in the database at end. Do the scan
again though and I will again be told there is no data at the start.
Indeed, many of my items are just vendor-mark-up prices since there is
no history being stored.

Are others seeing this? Is there some magic file I have to delete to
get things working again? (I tried deleting all the addons related to
auctioneer and reloading from the developer site, but no change in
behavior)

Did you remove auctioneer data in the SavedVariables folder as well ?
This can be found in WTF Account <Accountname> SavedVariables

I have been having the same problem. I have seen a message in the chat
window that says "warning overwriting aucscandata with
aucadvancedscansimpledata" As soon as I mouse over an item I get "the
auc-scandata storage module could not be loaded: missing" This is after
deleting everything that has to do with auctioneer from WTF and a new scan.
Driving me nuts as well because auc doesn't help me with prices when putting
items in the ah or when doing a mouseover.

Just did it again to be sure. Removed 30 data files (normal plus
backup). Ran WoW and immediately got the same warning message and
result...

BTW, what the heck does WTF stand for? The only thing to comes to mind
is something I am reasonably sure is not intended... What The ???

It's "World of Warcraft Text File".

The 'missing' is because you removed the module. If you don't remove it
though, you get the same message, but without the 'missing' addition.

Oh well, miserly loves company. At least it isn't just me. :-)

Sure hope they get a fix out for this soon, unless someone here has a
work-around.

Ask in #norganna (IRC). I'll try to remember to post a link to this thread
there later.

I posted a query on the norganna.org site earlier this evening. Got one
response asking for more info, which I just posted (error log). Didn't
sound like they knew about the problem.

Silly question I know, but.... are you running with Vista OS?

Last patch Vista 'suggested' I load warcraft into a public directory. So I
did.

I had a shortcut to my addons folder, and was dropping the updated mods
there. And, um, they were not working from there because my active game
folder was now in a new directory.

Since you use an updater mod, you might not even know if it was updating a
different folder than the one you are playing with.
