flc- First off the movie hasn't been released yet so no one knows what it's
like. Also no "official" movie footage has been released so each man too his
own but I'm holding judgment either way.
Secondly their has been a petition on biohazard extreme for ages but nothing
has come of it. Their is no way too stop this film going ahead. Especially not
now seing as though every one is already employed and are currntly working as I
write this. It would cost the film company literaly millions and millions too
cancel the film now and buy out every ones contracts. Also whoever told you
that you could stop a film coming out by just going too the preview was talking
bull. Their are a lot of factors that go into not bringing a film out at the
cinemas. And even if it was stopped it would go onto video/ dvd instead.

Nah.. firing Romero was one of the best moves they did. Did you read
his script? It was almost as horrible as the one we hear about now...
i. e., has little to nothing to do with the games, except that it's
set in a mansion.
Where did you read his Script?
There's a certain website that has many, many online manuscripts and
such from movies, though I can't remember what it is. You might be
able to find it if you search on www.google.com , though.

I was sent a copy of the George Romero script, when I bought some RE figures
on EBay. it was in error, but the guy was nice enough to let me keep it.
After reading it, I agree that the script did not follow RE1 exactly, but it
had a lot of flavor of the game, and I feel that any script written would
deviate from the game just as much. Heck, scripts from books do the same
thing all the time. Anyway, there was a lot of action, some pretty scary
sounding scenes, and since George Romero's 'Night of the Living Dead' movie
scared the living hell out of me when I saw it in the movie theatre, I bet
that George Romero would have made a good flic with lots of scary stuff, and
we would have liked it even tho it didn't follow the game step by step.
Tom (the old guy)>>
You saw night of the living dead in the theaters?! I'm assuming you mean the
original. If that's the case That must have really been quite an experience
during that time period.
Romero is kind of Hit & Miss with his movies. I liked Night & Dawn of the Dead
but he's had some real stinkers as well, Season of the witch comes to mind
pretty quick.

The Season of the Witch movie in question is not the same as Halloween 3, It's
a late 70's movie about a witch. To be honest most of his movies outside of the
living dead trilogy have kind of flopped, with the exception of MJ's Thriller.
Go figure, more zombies.
I do agree on halloween 3 though. I would have liked it much more had it been
named something else.
>>
If you had a chance to screen the movie, why didn't you? Thats the stupidest
thing I've ever heard. You're boycotting a movie you had a chance to screen,
but didn't because of your biased opinions!
Just because you guys don't approve of a movie doesn't mean it shouldn't be
released. There are people who want to see what they have done to take the
game to the giant screen. Maybe it'll be a good movie, and everyone wants it
on DVD. Maybe it'll be a bad movie, but everyone wants it on DVD anyway.

LoL, I was thinking along those lines too.

Any filmmaker with an ounce of vision or integrity is likely to have a rough
time with major studios. Romero has a new horror movie called "Bruiser". I don't
know if its gotten released yet. Its played festivals I think but I fear its going
straight to video.
What made Romero great was that the characters in his films were detailed and
complex. I think the fact that his characters were so real made everything so much
more suspenseful. Even if the characters were not so likable, when someone got
munched by a horde of zombies it was horrific because they were real people not
just an opportunity for gory effects.
However, I think Romero now has this problem: I don't think he is particularly
interested in horror any more. I think he's doing horror because its the only thing
he can get financing for. "Dawn of the Dead" was the perfect mix of horror, drama
and humor. By "Day of the Dead" he had obviously become obsessed with human
psychology and the zombies were just a sub plot.
Anyway, if you haven't seen it yet, any RE fan will love "Dawn of the Dead" (it
looks really 70's-ish now but its still cool). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for
"Bruiser".

Are you talking about Danny Boyle's Trainspotting ? 'Cos that doesn't
feature Milla Jovovich; she'd look a bit out of place in
a film about Scottish smackheads =)
I'm not sure about her at all:
Fifth Element: Grunting
Joan of Arc: Fighting
Million Dollar Hotel: WTF ?
Not once would I consider her role demanding the skill of acting =(
...then again...
Resident Evil: Shooting

I could swear that she was in it. Hm, I need to go back and watch that
again. And, she would not be out of place, since several of the other lead
actors are British. I think she is French, but when has that ever stopped
an actor from doing an accent?

Of course, I'm trying to look at the bright side on this one, so don't pop
my balloon. Look at it like this: It could be a lot worse. Just think how
it would be with Dolph Lundgen and Tia Carrere. Milla is starting to look a
lot better. And I'm only saying this since she is already cast, or I would
have given you a huge list of much better actors to play her role.
