I think it may actually be possible, as chilling as the thought is, that

Guybrush is NOT on AOL. He has been TOSsed. He is rather on AT&T
Worldnet. Check the headers:

Look carefully at the Organization and Path headers.
That is a forged email address, and a rather clumsy forgery at that.

Using the NNTP-Posting-Host header and a good Name Server, this dude
is living in ORLANDO. Floridians, get out your baseball bats, and look
for someone named REUBEN in ORLANDO.

Of course, the email to use this time would be ab...@worldnet.att.net

You're calling HIM a dumbass? You don't even know what retirement is! You're
only retired if you get your retirement check, and are officially regarded
as retired. Since I doubt that happens, you're not retired. You simply quit.
Actually, I'd guess you got fired. Put the gallon of milk on top of the
styrofoam egg container again? Yech...

>Oh and too bad I'm not that duh...@aol.com who everyone says I am - I am

Oh, insult my ISP. Now I'm hurt. You can keep your busy signals, slow access
times, and worthless mail/news support. You wouldn't even know what to do if
you got on a normal ISP; you'd feel confused once you didn't hear the
"You've got mail" sound.

Let me guess... you don't know why you're laughing at me, but you are. And
you know what? I don't care. That's just more air you have to take in,
increasing your chance of hiccups. And we all know how bad hiccups can be :)

Hawaii. Actually, I connect to AOL through my dad's Worldnet account (He's

Actually, average age for legal marriage with parental consent in the US
is 16. Some places as low as (gah!) 14. It varies from state to state. Age
for marriage without consent can range from 16 to 21.

Oooh, prodigy? WOW! "Your" company could gather all the lame companies
that aren't doing to well so they could become even lamer. What would
be the point of AOL buying prodigy? It's like Bill Gates buying
macintosh. Nick, I know you'll argue with this but mac only owns 4% of
the market, it doesn't seem like Bill really gained anything out of
this. And BTW, what are you calling it YOUR company? It's not your
company. Your a fucking lamer who just got on AOL. If you were an
experianced computer user, you wouldn't be so stupid or as much as an
asshole. AOL is getting too big for us to handle? No, it's not that,
it's becoming too lame to handle, it's producing lamers like you every
second. This is scary.

I don't know why, but I'm laughing, I really am.
Gaybitch, everyone knows your a retard, why don't you 'try' to prove
your smart by giving some evidence to back it up?

Then it's called "former". There's a *huge* difference between quitting

obvious explaining it would be less effective than trying to explain the

Where do you live? I was just curious, I haven't used AOL that much,

but I do find their constant barrage of diskettes one of the most
annoying things about buying magazines. I live near Washington DC, and
the cheapest ISP(and biggest) here goes for 9.95 a month, with a
prepayment of 2 years I think.

This profile must be fake. Think about it, could gaybitch be an adult?
I think experiance would teach someone to respect people and people on
NGs. And who would marry this dumb fuck? Diana the hermaphidite(sp)?

Either way, he's noticing the mail bombs sent to his way (...). He
mentioned before, stupidly, that he has another isp (when this many
people hate you, never give them any information about yourself). What
I think he did is from that ISP, he used netscape to forge his name to
his aol account so he could make posts from that and the replies would
still goto gaybitch.

Well after reading this massive spoiler thread I decided to check
Dejanews to see
where else Guybrush's name popped up. I have attached an interesting
post by Kevin
Lee as to Guybrush real location. Though I can't verify it, it's still
a start and
I'm sure someone else can probably finger his address. To see where
this post was obtained go to:
www.dejanews.com
and type in Guybrush ,etc.

Note: I am posting this only because Kevin Lee's post was only in
alt.games.final-fantasy and not the rest of this spoiler thread. I hope
I posted this
right.

That's good, as long as your happy with an isp your on, it doesn't
matter how lame it is. But I think, like a child, AOL newbies are
influenced by their envirnment(sp?). They're like a sponge, they suck
up everything around them. One of the effects of this is being pulled
into AOL simply because you don't know what could be better and it's
really easy to use. Once you get advanced at internet use though, I
think that's when a person's words on the internet effect me. If you
like aol and your experianced then you like aol. But I think that if
you like aol and your a newbie, you haven't seen anything else or aren't
ready for anything else yet and should maybe try to learn the internet
more and then make a desision(sp?).

BTW: aol hella censors they're NGs. If you are like me and spend most
of your time on them, maybe you would like to reconsider once again if
aol is really worth it or not. I'm sure there are thoughs certain NGs
you just would like to look at so badly but can't.

AOL is ~$20/month for unlimited access. All the local ISPs here are

~$20/month for the same, but offer a lot less in the way of internal
services. CServe just went to ~$25/month unlimited access. Worldnet is
~$20/month, and offers zero in internal services, unless you want to count
their news server.

Now, I ask you, who's making the poor decidion here? I'll stick to AOL,
thank you.

The correct response to this post would be:

1) What are you, a fucking idiot? 'man' is not spelled with all caps,
it only has one at the most, and that would be the first letter.

2) What are you, a fucking idiot? Your calling other people stupid
fucks?

3) What are you, a fucking idiot? Retired means you don't work any more
for the rest of your life. Your only 17, you can't be retired yet.

4) What are you, a fucking idiot? Like no one's heard of AT&T?

5) What are you, a fucking idiot? 'Shit' does not have an apostrophe in
it.

6) What are you, a fucking idiot? How can you be 17 and married to
someone when your in the USA?

7) What are you, a fucking idiot? All of the above.

Yes, but CServe still functions seperately for the time being. And the
news letter my dad just got on his CServe account reported the rate change
I mentioned. Now, go to bed before daddy catches you playing with his
computer. Also helps keep you from making a bigger fool of yourself, as if
that were possible.

Usually non-internation ISPs cost less in some area because they have to
compete with the big boys.

Your mail and news software I mean not server. I like Agent, and I
like Outlook Express, but sometimes I like to use Eudora Light as
well, and if I find a better news software (look at Gravity from time
to time), then I like to be able to switch there to.

Close as you can get, confined to just over the 'net. I know for a fact a
lot of people have "@aol.com" in their killfile because of their delluded
opinion that all AOL people are idiots who barely know how to turn on the
computer. I've known people to get EMail-bombed, have viruses sent to them,
etc, etc simply because they are on AOL and had the nerve to post on Usenet.

Actually I can, AOL being the biggest place and the easiest to use, it
atracts the most newbies. And I can also blame AOL for Gaybitch being

I was calling you a child, even a child could have understood that.

First of all, you are a child. Second, I could have spelt that right if
I wanted to take the time, I have a computer dictionary. Instead I
chose to spell it wrong and say that I did you dumb fuck.

I don't want to have a spelling debate with someone like you, the
argument would be boring because you don't have the brain capacity to
respond back with anything arguable.

It's "Apple". And I don't care if people are so stupid & misinformed to
give into the Microsoft Marketing Machine, but I know that the 4% you
mentioned (which seems a tad bit low to me, where did you get those

Normally I'm content to just sit back and watch a farce like this unfold
but today I have been moved to respond and since Friday afternoons at
the office can be rather boring I think I shall. First of all, just my
generic responses to stuff read from this thread:

Yeah, technically it's kinda rude to ask people's age in public, but it
is equally rude to flame them for doing so...the individual was probably
just being inquisitve and not thinking that it was rude. Secondly, just
because someone is on AOL does not make them a bad person (and I'm not
saying anyone has that prejudice) I personally do not like AOL (or
AOHell if you prefer) as I find that it does not suit my needs, if you
are happy with it then more power to you, I think that you may not be
getting all out of the internet that you could and I certainly am a firm
believer that GUI's and "point and click" technology suck...but I'm a
UNIX freak, I was weaned on a terminal window...not all of us are that
way and there's plenty of room for both. Third, I think even Guybrush,
someone who apparently has little to no respect for the sensitivities of
others, has a sense of humor and the retirement bit in his user profile
is meant as a sarcastic remark/joke on himself. Fourth, it is rather
sickening to realize just how young you can get married in this country.

BTW: There is no one (except later in this post to one specific person)
that I am trying to insult...just making observations...for the most
part, the regulars here seem like a good group of people that I would go
clubbing with or out to have coffee after work with. ;}

The user currently known as "Guybrush" (who may be the user known as
"mud" after Bahamut gets done with him...who knows? *grin*) apparently
pissed quite a few people off. (My knack for understatement is
uncanny.) to him:

Guybrush wrote:

Yes, I gues there are those in this world who are stupid...which by my
not-so-humble-definition is to be ignorant of your own ignorance. You
are how old? You are a bit too loose in your own dialect and
insensitivity to even feign a passing knowledge of what intelligence
is...therefore your rhetorical commentary on the intelligence of others
is nothing more than tripe. Now my intention here is not to gang up on
anyone but I do take exception to the audacity that someone who doesn't
possess a firm grasp of the english language to the point that they
cannot use even complete sentences presuming that they can tell a whole
group of others some, I'm willing to bet, double your age and experience
that they lack intelligence. Can you try actually just letting people
be and not showing your ass in public? Can you grasp the concept that
people will treat you as you treat them such that you should want to be
civil at the very least to others? Have you even contributed to the
polite conversation that goes on here in addition to the game-related
posts? I don't mind you inflicting yourself here on this newsgroup just
as long as you realize that you have roughly the same level of
understanding of how to interact with others that Neanderthal Man had
about quantum physics.
Think on that one.

--Ender Wiggin, Itinerant Speaker for the Dead
(With thanks to "TSM" for his inspiration)

PS: I'm not a "spell-flamer" I just was using the lack of intelligent
thought grouping to point out that the writer had no reason to insult
others on their intelligence...hell I'm not the best grammar/spelling
user myself but I have the "noun-verb" concept down to at least a second
grade level. :} --Ender W.

The good 4%? Because it's apple? No offence but you seem to be like a
wall when it comes to apple. You just don't budge. You also seem to be
very sesitive about the subject. I heard it from my best friends dad
who used to be a computer engineer and now sells java software. He is
very well read and I trust him. I've also heard from another person
that I forget. What would you estimate they were at?

Excuse me, but I never said anything about how mac or their os sucks. I
just said that they own very little of the market so I don't see why
Bill Gates would want to attempt to buy them out (That's what he appears
to be doing). I love the mac os so much better than windows it's just
that no body seems to be making software for it any more. And it
doesn't look like they're hardware is getting any cheaper. I kind of
feel about N64 the same way. I think the N64 is a great system, it's
just the fucking company behind it are a bunch of stubborn assholes that
don't listen to their costomers complaints and are very slow when it
comes to change.

Propietary means it uses its own specialized "stuff" without letting
you use whatever you want. For example.

Take two cars, the Zoom6000 and the Speedy125. The Speedy125 is ippy
and uses whatever gas you want. The Zoom6000 uses its own special gas
and canNOT use anything else BUT it's own gas. The Zoom6000 therefore
has a "propietary" gas tank, i.e. it uses its own special stuff.

I don't think AOL is completely propietary, as I remember using
Netscape instead of their browser. But I'm pretty sure you HAVE to use
their mail client and newsreader, hence it's propietary...

You don't. You may be able to make it look to an amature like it came from
him, but, no matter what anyone may tell you, there is no way to make it so
that a 'net operation cannot be traced back to the *real* source.

And, beleive me, a company as big as AOL has the means and, if someone
does something to "fuck them up", will persecute to the fullest extent of
the law. Coorperations won't take as much shit like that as dinky little
local companies will... ;)

Remember, the only stupid question is the one that's never asked. That was a
perfectly legitimate question, so hopefully here is a perfectly legitimate
answer :)Only an ISP or network will usually have a firewall, so you don't
have to worry about it, since you connect through the ISP, thereby gaining
any advantages that their firewall offers. If you connect directly to the
Net (using your computer as the main server, bypassing an ISP), you would
most probably have to provide your own. As long as you connect through an
ISP, or the network that you access has a firewall, you don't need to worry
about it. And if you are connecting from an office or other network which
may have a firewall, and then connect to AOL, you get double the protection,
for double the fun! Two firewalls make you even harder to detect on the Net,
because the firewall farthest from you will cover the tracks of the firewall
closest to you, so it's even harder to track where you come from. I'm not
sure about AOL's technical inner-workings, but I'm sure they have some
mighty good protection back there, firewalls and all.

Plus, how many casual Net surfers go to the expense and trouble of getting
the hardware to have 24-hour static net presence? Not me, for one :)

>Also, you are quite right...I did ask this question earlier and I thought
>no-one had answered it because I didn't see your reply...thanks again:).

No prob. Even thought it was just a quick cut-and-paste maneuver, I hope it
doesn't mean any less :)

>And you see how correct I was...you do give good and useful
>explanations/advice...much as you denied it when I first posted it!
