Fake editor with no qualifications (OSzust is Polish for a fraud) applied for and got editorship at various journals.

Hoss Cartwright, of Bonanza fame, also got similar positions.

Wow. Phrase of the week: "predatory journals".

Makes you yearn for the days of the old style, more gentlemanly, academic
corruption.

Every year an unsuspecting gradual students gets buried under a pile of JBCs*. Everybody thinks it is an accident, but we know better.
*Journal of Biological Chemistry. Back in the early 2000's there were at least 30K pages of articles every year for that journal. I'm sure it is more now.

Mmmm, fresh gradual student! Lots of biological chemistry to absorb.
(Rapid students are too hard to catch, I suppose. <grin>)

Duh! It's a library. One must speak softly.

Mostly well [earthed|grounded] and at least some of them chained to the
shelf. A chained library is ... impressive.

Current story is about high school students, on the school paper,
checked the bone fides of the new principal and discovered they were all
made up.

Not EXACTLY made-up. The degree came from a diploma mill
pay-for-paper college.

Well, ok. Better than one hand drawn in crayon. And you can't use
