New Photos Show Chelsea in Drunken Stupor - Again
Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton was photographed being carried out
of a London nightclub in a drunken stupor last week - and the pictures
have been published in one of Britain's most widely read tabloids, the
Daily Mail.
Photos taken outside the Embassy nightclub in London's fashionable
Mayfair district show a "bleary-eyed" Clinton collapsing into the arms
of her boyfriend, Ian Klaus, as he sat in the back of their car.
She had to be carried to the curb by three male companions, according to
an account based on the Daily Mail report in the German wire service
Deutsche Presse-Agentur.
"They had to pull her legs into the car to get her in," one eyewitness
told the Mail. "She nearly fell down and didn't seem to have a clue
what was going on."
Another witness explained, "She looked very drunk and her friends rang
for the car to get her."
Others on the scene told the London tabloid that Clinton had to dash to
the cloakroom on a couple of occasions before feeling brave enough to
face the cool night air at around 3 a.m.
The former first daughter's partying has become notorious, and rumors
continue to swirl that Oxford University, where she has attended
graduate school since last year, is so distressed it's considering
expulsion.
In January, the American supermarket tabloid the Globe published photos
of young Clinton staggering out of another London nightclub. A year
before, the same tabloid carried accounts of Clinton getting "sloppy
drunk" during a spring break weekend in Aspen, Colo.

L O N D O N, May 30 — Two British tabloids carried photographs Thursday
showing Chelsea Clinton being helped from a London nightclub by her
boyfriend.
The Sun and the Daily Mail both published several photos suggesting the
22-year-old daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Sen. Hillary
Rodham Clinton had too much to drink at the Embassy Club.
"Bill's girl is going ... going ... gone!" The Sun said in a headline on
page 25. It was divided around three photos showing an apparently wobbly
Chelsea Clinton being helped by Ian Klaus, another American studying at
Oxford University.
The Daily Mail reported that Chelsea Clinton first tried to leave the
club around 3 a.m. with a coat over her head, then lost control as she
stumbled and was held up by Klaus and other friends on the way to the
car.
"We have no comment," said Karen Dunn, a spokeswoman for Senator
Clinton. Julia Payne, a spokeswoman for the former president, did not
immediately return a phone call.
