I do believe that it is burgundy and yellow-gold. It has a tree in the middle
with funky looking leaves. DHS is written in all caps and it's 1963(?) at the
bottom. Does that help?
Jaimie
P.S. If you decide to use fabric paint instead of embroidery on it, if you use
the glow-in-the-dark apaint over the top of the outline, tree and stuff, it's
REALLY cool during TAL!
Purple and gold. See http://boog.org/graphics/rh-dhs63.gif for the
one I drew several years ago that our Brads use.

It's an apple tree.
J>DHS is written in all caps and it's 1963(?) at the bottom.
"DENTON HIGH SCHOOL" (bottom towards center) and ".1963." (top
towards center).

We made buttons that we pin on the Brad jackets... I should check
how that lucks, though...

PS Thanks to Wally and Ruth for helping me make that damn thing! :-)
Unfortunately, I'm getting "server down or not responding" to the
attempt to view the photos... But for the text:
Ruth>Patch has a gold outline of a tree in the middle. Words in gold
Ruth>thread are in a circle around the edges. "DENTON HIGH SCHOOL" arches
Ruth>around the top two-thirds of the circle...
Three-quarters, not two thirds. Each set of six characters
(including spaces and the bullets to either side of the year) "DENTON",
" HIGH ", "SCHOOL", and "o1963o" takes up 90 degrees of arc... 15 degrees
per character, IOW.
Ruth>There are some gold dots in the leafy part of the tree.
I thought those were apples. If archive.rhps.org ever comes back up
(Why aren't those pictures on your server?) I'll have to take a close
look...
archive.rhps.org is up.
http://archive.rhps.org/timewarp/abpatbw.gif doesn't display here.
http://archive.rhps.org/timewarp/abcpatch.gif does, but is better
for jacket styling and patch positioning than for patch detail.

The patch photo I looked at yesterday from the Australian RH magazine
(which I don't own--it's Gene Chiovari's) shows this:
a tree outlined in gold, which does look to have green leaves, and the
gold things in the leaves are definitely there (I still don't know if
they're apples or not) but the trunk is definitely gold, not brown. It
also looks like there is a red circle just inside the lettering, but as
the color is just a little off, so I wouldn't swear to it.
That said, Wally's and Jamie's patches are among the best Brad patches
I've ever seen.
Best regards,
Ruth

Can we get a scan or at least tell me which magazine it is? Is it the black one
with the throne scene on the cover?
Larry.
