McConnell was going to be a dead Vietnam war hero and joined the
National Guard but got discharged after 37 days because he wasn't strong
and powerful and heroic. Sad. He got cheated out of many medals and
awards. Then he became the embodiment of obstructionist fart right
conservative shitshowism.

Perhaps you need a course in creative problem creation?

Consider the case where you have a 10 cup coffeemaker that very neatly
occupies the counter space between the microwave oven and the stove with
space to spare for the biscuit tray below the cookie and coffee
cupboard. Now, how would you turn that into a problem? Well, consider
a 1 cup coffee machine twice as large, costing 5 times as much, that is
very stylish and difficult to clean, and will not fit anywhere in the
kitchen without disrupting work flow.

See how that works?

I don't know if your pike are different to the pike we
have in the UK. Me and my mate went pike fishing on my
40th birthday and he caught one which we ate for my
birthday dinner. What I remember most about it was the
bones, so many of them. Rather muddy tasting, too. I
didn't bother with pike again after that.

The muddy taste comes with acid rain pollution and dissolved minerals
like aluminum. Pickled pike is popular because they're too big to eat
all at once and pickling dissolves all the little bones and it's a good
snack with crackers and cheese. Also, baking covered with thin slices
of lemon works good.

Could take more than a couple of days. They've been in the nasty water
since they hatched.

New England is downwind from the steel and coal fired power plants in
Ohio and Pennsylvania. Lots of particulates and acid rain hammered the
area from the late 1950s through the early 1990s. There were anecdotal
reports of ponds, lakes and streams with no fish, nasty tasting fish,
algal blooms and unusually clear water. Several universities obtained
grants to develop environmental studies programs and began studying the
situation. I was an the instrumentation engineer who developed devices
(most of which were portable and inexpensive) to sample and measure
chemical and physical factors. It was worse than we expected. Some of
the highest ozone readings in the world were measured in the nearby
mountains (why the pine needles turned brown). We found mercury,
cadmium, lead, nickel and other nasties. We collected rain with pH
levels in the battery acid range. Glacial granitic soils do not have a
high buffering capacity and the vegetation common in that area does not
sequester heavy metals.

The world went out; don't eat the fish unless the fish and game guys
have tested the water and declared it safe.

The situation has improved now that the steel plants have shut down and
the coal plants are required to have stack gas precipitators and burn
low sulfur coal/oil.

But Mr. The Trump is rolling back regulations for jobs and greatness.
No more free dinner from out the brook up the mountain or the pond
behind the church (you can park there and there's a boat ramp) out on rt
4 just past the post office.

I just bake or grill it in the open. Depending on the fish, a coating
of mayonnaise works better than butter to prevent sticking to the grill.

Gerk ought to know doorknob what with his gas problem:

Doorknob
a game played mostly by males in which (when someone farts) someone
calls "doorknob" and beats the shit out of the farter until he passes
out or touches a doorknob... the farter can call "safety" to keep from
getting the shit beat out of him.

Poor old Cur Gomer wh remains ever hopeful of being relevant.

I use English not some local patois used where bears shit. My 20 volume
OED has 'door' and it has 'knob'. There is no entry for 'doorknob'. In
addition to that, I'm sure any Brit here would understand the reference
to a 'knob' while it's probably been a total woosh for someone who lives
in bear shit country. (NB that use of 'bear shit' and opposed to
'bearshit').

From a search of (an expensive and beyond the means of a bear shit
living resident) dictionary.
