(Why would we have a problem with the Obama administration? It was one
of the finest administrations in history.)

I damned sure don't fall for the disinformation the Russians, Breitbart,
and President Trump fish out from the various toilets around conservative
meeting places.
No matter how much you deny it, President Obama was one of the finest
Presidents in history. As time marches on, history will prove that.
History will judge President Trump to be the worst President we've ever
had.

Well, we may _hope_ Trump proves to be the worst president, but we seem to be on a downward spiral.

One famous man described the voters as being in a mood for "legal
terrorism". They don't care who they vote for, as long as the man
takes a sledge hammer to everything in government. They've lost so
much during the meltdown that all they want is revenge, and they can't
understand why it's taking so long to repair the damage. It's going
to be that way for sometime to come; it's going to get a lot worse before
it gets any better.
And once they put President Trump in office, they simply can't understand
why it keeps getting worse and worse each and every day.

The problem of the "Left Behind" is scarcely a new one. In the UK its ex coal-miners for the most part.

People are always being left behind by changes in both employment and morality.

And you can understand the anger that creates, but it's hard to see how you fix it.

A man can spend decades advancing some well-paid skill, only to find it suddenly no-longer required. He's not going to want to go back the the beginning with a new career. He's not going to want to get buy on a welfare pittance. He's going to want to wind back the clock.

And it's going to happen to a _lot_ of people in the next few decades.

The story of the phoenix that rises from the ashes.

I watches a series called Jericho on NetFlix that sort of fell into that
theme. The idea was that in order to return the United States to the
people the terrorists nuked the United States. It was kind of a "B"
grade show but it's a similar disaster scenario in that restarting from
ZERO is an option, but may only end in a civil war.

Most terrorists, Republicans and conservatives have no idea who's in
charge of the United States. When they say, "Return the U.S. to the
people.", they actually mean give it over to them and their ideas,
sort of like "People's Democratic Republics". They're all in favor of
the Constitution, according to _their_ view of it and no other. As long
as they can fool the voters, it'll just get worse and worse.

I have an instant distrust of anyone who cites "The People" as if it were a thing.

There is no The People, there are only people.
