No? Lets see how many "duh" moves he made in the first episode.
He doesn`t get a haircut before he goes back in time, or get period
clothing, he goes back with long hair and a rock iron-on t-shirt. Was told
to get an inconspicuous car but bought a very conspicuous one. He takes
his smart phone (there is some technology that shouldn`t fall into any
hands), and a knife with the years of the Vietnam War inscribed on it. He
throws the phone into a river, which does not rule out it coming into
someone elses possession. He goes to a bookie he doesn`t know and makes a
huge longshot bet, with the payout being more than what that bookie
probably makes in about a year taking bets. He throws the book with all
the fight outcomes around with no regard to it`s importance (in the glove
compartment, boardinghouse, ect). He drops all the assassination
background paperwork all over when some kid bumps him in Dealey Plaza.
What if someone helped him to pick it up and looked at it, or some of it
blew away? And the guy can`t follow anyone unless he is practically
stepping on their heels. At the end he is making the dumb move of getting
involved in the murder of the family of the guy in his writing class.
Sorry, he is coming off like an idiot to me.

Understood. But I can`t enjoy it if I`m constantly saying "What did you
think was going to happen, idiot?" to the screen.
