I Am

For a brief moment

I thought I made you up

but a reflection

proved me wrong;

I do exist,

as my finger

writes of torture

into the condensation,

of a mirrored

image.

I don't think that's funny, Michael.

I keep hoping, wanting to believe, trusting and it's all just a big funny ha ha joke on me. A game that everybody is playing.

I don't know. Did I do something to deserve it?

Sorry Rachel. That was just my attempt to ensure that no one read anything into the poem.

I can speak on behalf of the poets here Rachel, that we all love having you here... but you should remember we are all a cantankerous lot of grumpy old men, but if we are the Rat Pack of Poetry...

You are our Angie Dickinson.

Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin (and possibly other members of the Rat Pack) slept with Angie Dickinson. Whereas they considered Shirley MacLaine their little sister and kept their friendship strictly platonic.

And yes, now that you mention it, Shirley MacLaine does seem a wee bit eccentric. :-)

Let's see, Pendragon is Frank, I'm Dean Martin, obviously, Jimmy, Samm Davis
Jr. and Corey certainly is the Jerry Lewis figure.

Good point on Shirley vs. Angie, btw.

Your delusions of grandeur become more bizarre every day.

Which Greek gods or Roman generals do you imagine yourselves to be,
you pathetic little clique of talentless nobodies?

They did leave out George, so that's gotta be next up.

Okay, I'll switch with you, Sinatra for Dino, and propose George Dance as Peter Lawford.

You're watching "Terms of Endearment", the movie?

I can't remember that much of the film, but I do recall something really sad happening near the end..?

Are you having fun while the AAPC regulars daily peck your guts out?

Prometheus wasn't a god, btw. Look it up.

> and Publius Cornelius Scipio Aemilianus Africanus Numantinus

I said, in effect, "Would you like to make pretentious fools of
yourselves, kooks?" and one of the kooks replied, "Yes, indeedy!"

When Goggling in the hope of impressing me, you accidentally picked
the wrong Scipio.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scipio_Aemilianus
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scipio_Africanus

Only a disgusting fascist or ISIS supporter would prefer the grandson
to the grandfather.

Besides, only a delusional clown would imagine himself to *be* a Roman
general, even if the general were one of the less odious ones.

It's fine to have Roman heroes. Fabius Maximus is one of mine, along
with the elder Scipio (who also appears on all other decent people's
litses), Sulla and Diocletian.

Get Goggling, Creepster!

Sure he was. He was the prototype of Lucifer, who became Satan after the Fall, and who is God.
