Midnight Commander layout break under screen session

Here are the steps to reproduce this issue:
1. Launch Putty and connect to D-Link DNS-323 rev B1 with Alt-F 0.1RC5.
2. Type "screen" and press Enter.
3. Type "mc" and press Enter.
4. Press F9 key to enter the top menu of Midnight Commander.
5. Press Enter to pull down the first menu group called "Left".
6. Press Right Arrow key several times to go to the menu group called "Right".
