Hi folks!

I use Alt-F at home, so I don´t want to bother with different permissions.

So, when I installed Alt-F, I defined all files and folders with nobody, nobody, so everyone inside my network can have access (I use files on my PS3, and my WDTV, as well as my cellphones).

But today, when I used Transmission to download some movies, I got one message that I didn´t have permissions to rename the file, or even copy another file inside the downloaded folder.

Then, I realized that Transmission created a user called "Transmission", and a group called "BT":

I changed the permissions to nobody, nobody again, but whenever I restart the NAS, the permissions are changed back.

Does anyone know how to make the Tranmsission folders always set to nobody, nobody, without any manual intevention whenever NAS restarts? I can add a script at the beginning to change everything, but I don´t know if Transmission runs after or before that init script....

Thanks!

/etc/init.d/S81transmission starts transmission and sets files/folders/transmission permissions. The user script is the last one to start.

Just because you don't use your car's direction-change lights, don't ask car makers to not include them :-)

Thanks!

I am a total noob and I am having the same issue. Is there anyway to keep the transmission folder under the nobody user permission? I can't get it to keep.

The real solution is to add (selected) users to the BT group: Setup->Users, select user, select group, hit add to group.
