Will Alt-F restore windows media player functionality?

Lost the ability to stream in Windows Media Player on my
DNS-321 (and to external network devices like my Sony Blue-Ray player) once I upgraded to Win 7 years ago. A firmware update was "in the works" from D-link but never came to fruition before support for the product was dropped. Does Alt-F address this?
