Subject: new documents issued to prepare for IPBES-1

The preparation of IPBES-1, to be held in Bonn, Germany on 21-26 January 2013 are under way!

The first three official documents have been published by the IPBES Secretariat, and are available at http://www.ipbes.net/plenary/ipbes-1.html :

Draft policy and procedures for the admission of observers - IPBES/1/4

Procedure for receiving and prioritizing requests put to the Platform-IPBES/1/5

Draft financial procedures for the Intergovernmental Science -Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services- IPBES/1/6

In addition, as requested by IPBES Members, the Secretariat has published a draft review of assessments related to Biodiversity and ecosystem services, at all scales. A website compiles the data that were used for this report. Arguably, many information are missing at this stage and you may consider useful to comment this review or provide inputs to the database accessible at http://catalogue.ipbes.net. Comments are open until November, 30, and should be submitted to the secretariat by email at ipbes...@unep.org.

I would be happy to receive your comments related to assessments carried out with support from IUCN, in order to provide a coordinated input.

Best regards,
