Dear Colleagues,

I want to draw your attention on two documents that have been published on the IPBES website to prepare for the first meeting of IPBES plenary, to be held on 21-26 January in Bonn, Germany.

-          An annotated agenda

-          A roadmap to a work programme, including provisions about processes, procedures and institutional arrangements for implementing this programme

These documents are to be downloaded from http://www.ipbes.net/plenary/ipbes-1.html

Obviously most of the discussions will focus on procedures and no decisions should be expected on the work programme, most issues being considered by the Multidisciplinary Expert Panel, once formed.

IUCN and ICSU have been mandated by the IPBES interim Secretariat to co-facilitate the stakeholders consultation, to be held on the 20th of January, in Bonn. I will soon circulate the agenda of this meeting, designed to provide detailed information about the IPBES process and discuss the points that may come to be decided upon (especially the policy for admission of observers which is critical for the transparency of this process).

Best regards,

Pierre Commenville
