Hi,

I'm newbie on Alfresco; and I have a new Project, i want to create a document repository for archaelogical purposes.

On this repository, will have:

- Articles
- Books
- Thesis
- Another documents.

May be very useful for us, if we can create:
- Deposits (like, "necropolis of Troia"). -spanish: "yacimientos"-
- Findings (like, "a bronce sword") . -spanish: "hallazgos"-

The findings may have a relationship with a deposit (or not).

Deposits and findings can have a associated document, or not; in the case of deposits, always have a geolocalization; but, in the case of deposit, sometime have a document (one photography, for example)... Or not, because the reference is missing.

The articles, books, thesis, .., may have relationships with:

- Deposits
- Findings
- Author (in the most of cases, there are more than one author)

The articles, may have relationship with:
- A Magazine (many articles are published on a magazine)
- A Congress (many articles are part of the result of a congress).

I read the Alfresco's documentation, and the concept of "model"; but, for example, for field type "list", i was read that the items of the list was defined on the field.

So, i think that the better approach, may be the creation of the next models:
- ArchaelogicalDocument
- Deposit
- Finding
- Author
- Magazinie
- Congress

But i have some questions...

Is it possible to make relationships between different models?

Is it possible inheritance between different models?

Many thanks in advance.

But if he is just keeping a few pointers from one document to some others, he should be fine.

The purpose of the project is share documentation, and work with it; fast search, and so on.

I think that the solution for that goals, is a DMS / ECM.

The "groupware work", it's enought with the wiki or forum features of the Alfresco Share.

Many thanks.

Good Day all

I am embarking on a similar project for my Masters Thesis but i can't share much at the moment as my Supervisor needs to work on my proposal before it gets approved by the EXCO. I will definitely share once all the administrative/legal aspects have been dealt with. I would also like to get updates on how this is going. Thanks
