So, where did all those 12AU7s go in the 1950s? Well IBM used quite a few here:

Now there is a computer Tim Allen could love. More power! Ruff, ruff... Gotta love power cords as thick as your wrist!

Did you notice the rater pronouced 100 Hz hum in the not so ba kground? Obviously a European installation.
