to put on an all day workshop in Cleveland on
what the Amazon cloud has
to offer. The day offers attendees a chance to meet the engineers that
stand behind the Amazon cloud and their relational data services.
If you
have been thinking about using the cloud or have questions about what
makes Amazon web services unique, then attend this workshop.
No prior
cloud experience is necessary. If you believe in learning by doing, this
is the workshop for you. Walk away from the day with the knowledge that
you can navigate the Amazon cloud with confidence.

8:30-9:30 Broad introduction to RDS (all engines); differentiators from other cloud
9:30-10:30 In-depth presentation on RDS for Oracle, including licensing overview
10:30-10:45 Break/Snacks
10:45-11:45 In-depth presentation on Postgres & MySQL databases on AWS
11:45-12:00 Storage on AWS (S3, Glacier…) includes database use cases: migrations, backups, etc.
12:00-1:00 Lunch
1:00-2:00 Presentation on Data Management Services and the Schema Conversion Tool. Briefly cover non-relational options
2:00-2:15 Break/Snack
2:15-5:00 Hands-on database administration exercises using RDS for Oracle
