Although AQE 2 is being released as I write this, it doesn't yet do ozone or particulates. And there are lots of V1 eggs out there. The attached paper reports on some work in progress on a statistical method to calibrate egg V1. The paper starts with a short discussion of the particular issue I'm interested in (air quality in the Grand Valley of western Colorado), and then turns to a discussion of the sensor technologies used in V1. The next section describes the methodology and initial results. The nice thing about the methodology is that (at least in principle) it deals with temperature, humidity and cross-contamination effects. The bad news is that my NO2 sensor was defective when I was doing the data gathering, so I have only done ozone thus far. I have both a new sensor and an egg v2 on order. When I get them, I'll redo the analysis for ozone and add, NO2, CO and particulates.

Some particulate results not reported in the paper are that the statistical technique might even be useful for calibrating the egg data to PM 2.5.

Comments on the paper would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jerry

No. It’s been on hold as I work with the Wicked Device folks on some software changes, and also work with the second generation egg. Happy to have comments, etc.

Thanks,
