PRESIDENT GENERAL OF OHANAEZE NDIGBO BARR NNIA NWODO COMMISERATE WITH THE GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE OF KANO STATE OVER THE DEATH OF DAN MASANIN OF KANO ALH MAITAMA SULE.

The President General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Barr Nnia Nwodo on behalf of Ohanaeze Ndigbo commiserate with the government and people of Kano state and the Arewa Consultative Forum over the death of one of the front line elder statesmen and Nigerian nationalist Alh Maitama Sule.

'His death has robbed Nigeria of one of its  fearless statesmen', according to Bar Nwodo. He urged the government and people of Kano state and the nation to bear the loss with fortitude.

Also two Igbo groups , the Igbo Information and Communication Network and the World Igbo leadership, Education and Cultural Council have expressed their shock over the death of Alh Maitama Sule, a moderating Voice in the North and an elder statesman of immense proportion.

The groups wish the government and people of Kano state and the family of Alh Maitama Sule fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Their spokesmen Obisike Chidi and Edomobi Promise made this known in a press release on Monday, 3rd July, 2017.

I , CHUKS IBEGBU , the National Deputy Publicity Secretary of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo hereby wish to state publicly and categorically that I am not aware , involved or consulted in the recent write ups on some critical national issues which bore the name of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council.

I was the Pioneer Secretary General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council and later its Ag. National President.I know clearly that the body is supposed to subject itself to the parent body and work according to the rules, regulations and constitution of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, its parent body.

It has become necessary to make this clarification so that such publications should not  be seen as the official views, opinions or intendements of Ohanaeze Ndigbo or that of the National Deputy Publicity Secretary, Chuks Ibegbu.

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo is the leader /Head of the organisation and any official views of the organisation are communicated through him or the publicity unit/any other official/s of the body as may be directed.

I, the National Deputy Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo , Chuks
Ibegbu here-by absolve myself from recent write-ups , statements and
publications under the name of Ohanaeze Youth Council.

I was neither informed, communicated , nor put in the knwo before the
publications.

In the same vein , the National Executive Commitee of Ohanaeze Ndigbo still
re-iterates that the National leadership of DOhanaeze Youth Council led by
Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro was suspended by the last NEC of Ohanaeze Ndigbo
and the suspension has not been lifted. Any statement credited to any
official of the suspended wing bears no authorisation form Ohanaeze
National Executive Committee. Its only the President General and the
Publicity Unit/any other official authorised or mandated to do so that can
speak on behalf of Ohanaeze Ndigbo .
