I am having problems to get a development token.

Please do not answer me just giving me some link with Q/A or so.
I already spent a lot of time with that and did not get anything.

I have a AdWords account which I want to use for AdWords API.

To sign up for the AdWords API, you'll need a My Client Center (MCC)
account. Read our FAQ to learn more about MCC. If you already have an
MCC account, you can sign up for the AdWords API directly from the My
Account tab. Click on "API Center" and follow the instructions to
apply for AdWords API access.

I click : www.google.com/adwords/MyClientCenter,
And get to:
http://www.google.com/intl/en/adwords/myclientcenter/

1) Assuming I already have MCC I follow
“Already have an MCC account? Sign in here”
And get to my https://adwords.google.com/select/snapshot
Which is my AdWords service and I do not see how to get AdWords API
from here

2) Assuming I do not have MCC I do “Sign up now”
Then I have
Hello, and welcome to Google AdWords. We're glad to have you on board!
We need just a few details from you in order to set up your account.
To begin creating your AdWords account, choose the user name and
password you'd like to use with AdWords.
Which best describes you?
I have an email address and password I already use with Google
services like AdSense, Gmail, Orkut, or iGoogle.
I do not use these other services.

I choose I have …. and get :
The login xx...@xxxxx.com is already an AdWords account.

So this is a vicious cycle. WHAT SHOULD I DO ??

Hi Vit,

Thanks a lot for providing the sequence, I can now see why many people
get stuck at the signup process. Here's an explanation, and a
workaround to get this fixed:

From your explanation, my conclusion is that you don't have an MCC
account, so sequence (1) will fail for sure. So sequence (2) is the
right sequence to follow. But that will fail when you choose the "I
have ..." option, since you are creating a second account when
creating an MCC and so you need a second google login for the MCC. You
cannot provide your existing gmail login here, since you already have
it associated with your existing AdWords account.

The easiest workaround is to
- Create a new gmail account for use with your MCC alone
- Follow sequence (2),
- Use the new login in sequence (2), after picking "I have..." option.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions. I'll ask our
tech writers to clarify the documentation appropriately.

Dear Anash,
I think this is not an option neither  for me nor for other users.
The entire point is to keep the same e-mail address for both AdWords and AdWords API.
Creating a new gmail account as you suggest will force us to have a new e-mail address for API.
Besides I do not use gmail. I use yahoo mail.
So we still need help in resolving this issue.

Hi Vit,

AdWords API is designed to manage accounts, so only an MCC account can
have a developer token, an AdWords account cannot. When you use
AdWords API, you will end up owning at least 2 accounts - your
advertiser account and the MCC that holds your developer tokens- and
hence you need two logins. I understand that you want to keep the same
email address for both AdWords and AdWords API, but since an AdWords
account cannot have a developer token, there's no way to get this
done.

As for using Yahoo! mail, you need to pick "I do not use these other
services." option, provide your Yahoo! email and follow the sequence.
Note that you shouldn't be using this Yahoo! login for another AdWords
or AdSense account, or you will get the prompt about the account being
an AdWords account.
