to participate in The Urban Agrobiodiversity Project's 2015 survey of community gardeners in the city of Chicago and to enter to win a $100 gift card. Details are below.

Dear Community Gardener:

We would like to ask for your help with an exciting research program at the University of Illinois, The Urban Agrobiodiversity Project. The mission of the project is to document the variety of food and flowering plants grown in Chicago gardens, including community garden plots like yours. The project is part of a larger effort to develop a plant breeding program for sustainable urban agriculture in Chicago and its suburbs.

A key component of the project is an on-line survey of community gardeners.  The survey, which takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, includes questions about the specific plant varieties you are growing in your plot this year, your satisfaction with those varieties, your gardening history, and your background. The information you provide will help to determine priorities for the plant breeding program.

This is an anonymous survey, meaning that your name will not be connected to your answers to survey questions in any way.  At the end of the survey, you will be forwarded to a completely separate form to complete to be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card. One in 20 gardeners completing the survey will be randomly selected to receive a gift card.
