Hi, a couple classes you might be interested in this October at the Arboretum!

Growing Greens Indoors
Bill Shores, garden manager for the Rick Bayless Organic Garden in Chicago where he grows salad greens, herbs, tomatoes and chile peppers for Rick’s restaurant, Topolobampo, will be holding a class on microgreens at the Arboretum from 9-11am on Saturday, October 15.
Participants will learn to set up their growing system, plant seeds, grow and harvest, set up a soil recycling system, and taste different varieties of microgreens.

Grow Vegetables Year-round
Learn to grow vegetables in any space or season with a simple home hydroponics system for any space or budget. Get faster yields using less water. Arboretum horticulturist Ben Fortin will explain how hydroponics works, demonstrate how to set up two simple and inexpensive systems, and share tips and resources to get you started.
