Hi all,

As most of you are aware the Adopt a JSR website has moved to the new Oracle Community Spaces platform (https://community.oracle.com/community/java/jcp/adopt-a-jsr/overview).

I've gone through and updated the 3 matrices of JSRs In Progress, Completed, Withdrawn/Rejected and who is currently adopting them.

We have 31 JUGs listed as having Adopted JSRs, but the Matrices don't quite match up with that number.

If you are the leader and/or involved in Adopt a JSR in your JUG, please check the Matrix and let me know of any missing entries.

Cheers,
Martijn

Hi Martijn, and everyone else,

The Detroit JUG would like to adopt their first JSR. We would like join the other groups in adopting JSR 379 (Java 9 Umbrella.)

Thanks!

Hi Martijn,

The NLJUG has adopted JSR 371 (MVC 1.0).

An account of our efforts can be found here: http://www.nljug.org/jcp/jsr371-mvc-10/

Thanks in advance for adding us to the matrix!

Best regards,
Maurice de Chateau

Hi Martijn,

Could you please add another entry for the NLJUG? We will be adopting JSR 379 (Java SE 9 Release Contents) soon: at our JFall 2016 conference we will be holding a Hands-on-Lab.

One (rather important) question for this particular JSR: where do we best provide our feedback?
I have scanned through the mailing lists - there's an impressive number of those for OpenJDK - and the ones I would expect to serve this purpose are empty (e.g. http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/java-se-9-spec-comments/ or http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/java-se-9-spec-observers/).

Thanks in advance!

Hi Maurice,

Done!  The official list for feedback on the spec is http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/java-se-9-spec-comments/ - however this is where you have the confusing relationship between OpenJDK and the JCP, in that much of the 'real' development work is spread across multiple OpenJDK lists (like jigsaw-dev or corelibs-dev and so forth).

I would post your feedback to both:

http://mail.openjdk.java.net/mailman/listinfo/adoption-discuss (The Adopt OpenJDK list where we can help steer you to the right place)

Cheers,
Martijn

Hi Martijn,

Thanks, we'll take your advice on this! The conference is held on November 3rd, so it'll be a while before we come up with something, but it good to know.

Best regards,
Maurice
