When installing Adobe Photoshop CS3 on Windows Vista I get this error "Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance. Internal Error 2739" I have used the cleanup script included in Adobe Photoshop CS3 installer, and have removed all traces of Adobe apps including the beta versions and Acrobat 8 pro, and I still get the same error, how can I install this application? is there any way or do I have to reformat and reinstall windows?

I disabled everything I had running in the background thru Performance Info & tools-->Management Start Up Programs which is what the Windows Clean Script tells you to do among 3 or 4 other CS 3 beta items that I removed thru Windows Explorer. I didn't have no problems.

Hubert, I had the same problem this afternoon and called the free Adobe Installation Support number: 800-642-3623. The problem had to do with the jscript.dll. It took the tech., once I gave him the error number, all of 2 minutes to walk me thru fixing the problem. I am sorry to say, I can't remember what all that he had me do. If you know someone that is very computer savvy, they might can help you thru it, if not you can call that support number on Monday....their hours are Mon-Fri, 6am to 5pm, Pacific Time.

I hope this helps you!

And my username is bananas and my machine name is penquin do I modify the above as follows?

Internet explorer, not Windows explorer. Open the Task Manager, go to the Processes tab, then highlight iexplore and click End Process, and repeat the last step until no more instances of iexplore are running. (Not all instances result in Internet Explorer being on-screen, or even in a visible minimized icon. It's used by other programs, as well.)

I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I cannot get my photoshop to start working. The CD I used isn't broken because I loaded other programs from the same CD. When I try and start up Photoshop, it starts to load, then says, "Adobe photoshop CS3 has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem." Then it says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." And then nothing else happens. It doesn't notify me or anything.

I have tried unloading and reloading, I have tried turning off my security, I have also tried loading with administrative rights. I really have no idea where to go from here, and I cannot find anything on the internet about this.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Oh, and I am using a PC.

Are you trying to run it from the CD?

That won't work: it has to be installed and activated on the computer.

Yeah, It's loaded onto the computer.

The same thing happens either way.

Well, I went into My Computer and then right clicked on the cd icon and clicked copy to the desktop.

All modern Windows software must be INSTALLED, not COPIED

Installing creates entries in the Windows REGISTRY which are needed for the program to run

Usually, when you put a program's install CD/DVD in the drive, an install screen will show... where you read the screen and follow the instructions and enter the product code when indicated

If you have AUTORUN turned off for your CD/DVD drive, you will need to use Windows Explorer and go directly to the CD/DVD to run the install program... this is usually SETUP.EXE

Hey, I'm having the same error problem that Hubert was having. I tried doing the regsvr32 *space* JScript.ddl and the error message I am getting now is:

[The module "jscript.ddl" failed to load.

Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DDL files.

The specified module could not be found.
. ]

I debugged everything and I still have yet to get it to work. Anyone have any ideas for me.

Nevermind, I just found out the reason why it wasn't working. My human error typed .ddl instead of .dll, and yet I call myself a computer tech. Oh well, thank you everyone. It's working now.

It's not on a CD, it's on a DVD. Are you sure it's not a Mac version?

Ask God.

Presumably you got CS4 by praying to him, right?

Hey guys, I just installed Photoshop CS3 into my computer. There is nothing wrong with starting it up, however whenever I try to open a file or create a new one, this comes up :
"Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program"

I've tried re-installing however this comes up again.
I have Windows Vista on PC

Any Ideas?

Either a very generous person, it costs over $600, or a pirate.

If it was not a pirate, do you think this error will occur?

Because I really do not think it is, the person that gave it to me works in a computer store.
