I have Photoshop CS3, installed from a CD. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium on an HP Pavilion m7750n. Everything was working fine until two days ago. I tried opening Photoshop and this dialog box opened up:
"You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting you IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help."
I have a case pending over on Adobe Customer Support. Still no response, though. I also uninstalled and reinstalled. Same stupid dialog box shows up.
I just wanna know wtf happened? I did nothing different, didn't install anything strange or illegal, didn't uninstall anything I wasn't supposed to. Has this happened to anyone else? I can't be the only one to whom this has happened.
P.S. This happens with ALL of the CS3 programs I have: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and even Bridge.
I downloaded and unzipped the License Recovery file, located the .exe file, double-clicked on it, and got this...
"LicenseRecover.exe - Unable To Locate Component. This application has failed to start because python25.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
In WinZip, the file "python25.dll" is in the same folder as the "LicenseRecover.exe" file. Typically, I need to extract all files to a particular folder to make them work. If I need to do that here, where should I extract it to? If not, well...
Your advice is, once again, greatly appreciated.
Got a catastrophic problem now. "AMT Subsystem Failure. The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call customer support."
I reinstalled--well, TRIED to reinstall CS3, and the installation itself bogged down. Ultimately, the last CS3 installation dialogue box shows that a couple of components installed, but Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign did not install.
Any other suggestions? :)

I really miss Quark. Worked on it for 15 years. After 6 months, I'm still not sold on InDesign.
