Important Announcement from Charity Commissioner’s Office for Change Reports and Annual Accounts

to share this important announcement for trusts and societies registered in Maharashtra. The Charity Commissioner's Office has launched a special drive for filing uncontested change reports till Jan 31. You may have seen their advertisements in newspapers such as Loksatta, Lokmat, Sakal and Maharashtra Times. We have provided below, the announcement in Marathi. Here is an English translation:

"In order to speed up the processing of uncontested ‘Change Reports’ pending with the various offices of the Charity Commissioner in Maharashtra, a special drive has been organised from 01 January 2017 to 31 January 2017. All charitable organisations are hereby requested to take advantage of this special drive by visiting and submitting the requisite documentation and information with their respective local offices of the Charity Commissioner.

2. It is further notified that, going forward, an application intimating a new change along with submission of all requisite documentation and information would get processed within 30 days. Nevertheless, it is requested that applications for changes be submitted by all charitable organisations at the earliest without further delay.

3.The registrations of those charitable organisations who have not submitted their annual audited financials and ‘Change Reports’ for the last 5 years, may be cancelled during the aforesaid period and there onwards. All non-operational charitable organisations who wish to get their registrations cancelled, also need to apply for the same during the aforesaid period.”

Please take advantage of the special drive and visit your local Charity Commissioner’s office before Jan 31 with requisite documentation.
