PESA is applicable to all TSP villages in the state. PESA provisions empower GP to pass resolution and express willingness for or against any activity undertaken by Govt. Say for example, land acquisition. Earlier it was states willingness but now its tribal's prerogative. Like wise, all Acts whether central or state are subject to PESA as to appropriation and regulation of MFP ( minor forest produce). Earlier it did not require tribal's positive nod. Now it requires if state wants to go for such move. Moreover, PESA mandates state to amend, rescind, enact laws best suited to tribal having regard to their tradition, custom, culture etc and lot more. We are going to appoint PESA coordinator for each TSP village panchayat shortly in addition, going to train tribal in this respect.
