This is a courtesy message to let members know that the projects the group hosts on Java.net will no longer be available when Java.net is shut down in 2017.

TO BE CLEAR: The ADF EMG member forum on Google Groups is *not* effected by this change, the member mailing list will remain.  The change only effects the projects we have previously hosted on Java.net.

The closure of Java.net in 2017 impacts the following hosted projects:

ADF EMG Issue Tracker, ADF EMG Audit Rules, ADF Samples, ADF Task Flow Tester, ADF XML Data Control, SonarQube ojaudit plugin.

Most if not all of these projects such as the ADF EMG Issue Tracker have been dormant for sometime.  As such when Java.net closes we believe this will be a natural point for the project to retire & due to the nature of the project will not be missed.

For projects that include source code like the ADF EMG Audit Rules, Task Flow Tester and so on, if the respective authors are still maintaining the projects, can you please make plans to move the project to an alternative location if not already.  Once done please let the members of this group know where the projects have moved so they can follow and participate in your project.

A personal note: thanks to everyone who participated in these projects over the years. Be proud that you volunteered your time to build and foster a global community with the goal of helping others, often people you've never met. I think that is something special.

Thanks & regards,

CM.

Hi,

JDeveloper Glassfish extension is also hosted in Java.net, so I guess I will be moving the source code to... Github?

By the way, I think Audit Rules source code is now in bitbucket.

I have moved the remaining ADF EMG Open Source projects to github. The SonarQube ojaudit plugin now lives at https://github.com/adfemg/sonarqube-ojaudit and task-flow-tester now lives at https://github.com/adfemg/task-flow-tester
ADF Audit Rules and XML DataControl originated at java.net but have meen moved to bitbucket.org 1 or 2 years ago.

I have created 'adfemg' as a github organization at https://github.com/adfemg so the projects won't be linked to my personal github account. Hopefully having these projects on github makes it easier for people in the community to join in. Feel free to fork the repos and open pull requests ;-)

Thanks Wilfred,

That's a good idea (creating Adf emg as organization), it does make it easy for anyone to join and contribute. I just did a couple of weeks ago.

By the way, do you think it would be a good idea to move the GlassFish plugin to the same organization? I've been thinking about move it either to bitbucket or Github, but now that there is an Adf emg organization on github, I think it may be a better option.

Having it under the adfemg organization might make it a bit easier to change owners in the future. I did not want to link it to my personal github account. Having it under the organization makes it easier for others to step in. Just send me your github username so I can add you to the adfemg organziation and you could create repositories there if you like.

Thank you very much, Wilfred, for taking the initiative on this.  As you may know, I'm preparing a deep dive session for ODTUG KScope - Tips from the ADF EMG, and the tools provided to the community under the ADF EMG banner are included.  I'll add the new locations of these to my presentation.
