Cannot create a Twitter App anymore due to MobileNumberGate

Twitter required since some weeks a mobile number in order to create an app. This is not possible in Germany anymore. (And at least in France and Spain, when you google for the issue).
Do anyone have a solution for that? Like a US mobile number forwarding service Or a change in the plugin to not use the app mechanism?
